In summary

Neosho Municipal Golf Club receives praise for its beautiful layout, designed by renowned architect Perry Maxwell, and for offering a good value with affordable rates and friendly staff. The course is noted for its picturesque setting with challenging topography and a variety of amenities, including a driving range and a beer wagon. However, some visitors express concerns about the condition of the greens and bunkers, as well as issues with pace of play and inconsistent customer service. Despite these criticisms, many golfers appreciate the ongoing improvements and the overall experience.

What a fun golf course! I played 9 holes coming through town. The front 9 is designed by Perry Maxwell, one of the best golf course architects of all time. It has great strategy and risk/reward holes plus awesome green complexes. The course is not in perfect shape, but it is absolutely playable and the greens rolled nice aside from a few spots on the edges of greens. Paying $11 to walk a Perry Maxwell course is an absolute steal!! I wish the cart paths were more out of the way, but this course is a must play if you're into golf architecture or looking for a fun and unique golf course.

Not good. Played this track many times with a good experience. Went the first part of January on a Friday and were told there were no more senior rates! $43/person. The website still says $30 senior rates during the week. The 1st cart we got had a flat tire before we left the practice putting green. The 2nd cart wouldn't make it up the hill to the 2nd tee without me pushing it. Called the club house and they brought us another cart. Sent email to the department that handles the golf course and to the city manager. Still no response from either. This 4 some of seniors will be playing course's t…

Played a very nice tournament today and enjoyed it very much. This course, you can see, is going through an improvement stage. They are installing irrigation lines, which is much needed. The greens are fair and you can tell they are doing their best with what they have. The staff is pleasant, kind and hard working. The course is dry right now but everywhere is, we haven’t had good rain in a month; typical this time of year. Overall, not a bad place and I’d play here again. Keep up the good work Neosho, it’ll get better. I only give it four stars because nobody is perfect.

Had a great experience overall. The course is improving everyday and the staff in the clubhouse was first class. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area. Best bang for your buck around!

I play led 4 times a week playing 9 holes and it is nice having a cheaper option during to week days, and has really nice fairways, amazing staff, and some really good greens and tee boxes

The course is beautiful and staff is friendly and helpful! My favorite hole is 4, you tee off of the cliff over a pond. It is so serene! I will say my ball goes right into the water but that's because I'm not very good! Most golfers can easily make it to the green.

Even for a public course, it was terrible. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason as to how they booked tee-times or if it even mattered. No marshal to set things off, people were just going whenever they felt like it, which made play extremely slow. At the turn, they let a group of 4 (2 adults-2 kids) start at hole 10 right in front of us and we were already waiting because of 2 groups of 5 that were playing very slow. So while they all going off we decide to get a drink and snack, we walk in the clubhouse, the girl working the counter is practically sleeping and less than enthused about havin…

New owners took over in March , they have big plans to revive greens! One of the best golf courses around as far as beautiful lay out. Designed by professional golf course designer on front nine . Back nine winds through trees and Ozark country fairways. Truly a good golf course , friendly people . Golf course has a natural driving range with great prices! . I do recommend putting some artificial driving areas behind natural and rotate like highlands does in bell vista to keep grass from to much damage. I believe they do one week artificial driving spots and put natural area not open and then…

The drinks and green fee’s are cheap here. Although, I won’t be coming back due to the passive aggressive and disrespectful old men who run the course in the early morning. The young men who were there after we got done playing 18 were kind and respectful. Also, the green’s are awful. It looks like they care about their fairway’s at least but obviously not their putting greens. Good luck hitting a putt on any of these holes.

My friend went to go play 18 on 06/29/2025 and have me ride with him. They were going to charge him an extra $18 for me to fill a seat and their excuse was because they only have so many carts. He was only taking one cart if he were to go by himself anyways. We left and went to play at Carthage where they don’t charge customers for outrageous things.

Positives: staff was friendly, low green fee, the course is built on some beautiful rolling land with lots of mature trees. Several tee boxes to choose from. Tees and fairways generally in good shape. Negatives: Greens and bunkers. A couple of the greens were essentially unplayable with large brown spots and crabgrass. Many other greens had substantial patches of dead grass and weeds. Bunkers had little sand and lots of weeds. The course is in playable condition, more or less, but if the green complexes were in any kind of decent shape this course would be a hidden gem. As it stands today, i…
