In summary

The NMU Golf Course is frequently praised for its friendly staff, reasonable pricing, and well-maintained greens, offering a challenging yet enjoyable experience amid beautiful natural surroundings. Golfers appreciate the variety in course layout, which includes undulating fairways and strategically placed trees. However, some visitors note issues with tee box conditions, limited amenities such as trash cans and water stations, and the lack of food options on-site.

All-around a good course with a nice range. Good chance to see wildlife like deer, bear or even moose! Smaller clubhouse with some snacks and a cooler for drinks, so don't expect to eat a meal here!

Hard to beat $28 dollars to walk 18 holes nowadays. Friendly staff and a solid course. Would highly recommend!

Other than the fact that you'll find un-fixed pitch marks all over the greens, and you'll find par-3 tee boxes with absolute no grass, it's a great course with alot of good variety in distance, direction. A good challenge. Beautiful environment.

First off it was $25 (alumni rate) for 9 holes which is half of the country club in town; and could easily get a tee time. Played the back which was in great shape fast greens and fun to golf yet challenging. Highly recommend for cost!

Played 9-holes on the front 9 in the blustery wind 💨 and rain ☔️ with blue skies 🌌 coming out on the 9th hole. The greens were firm and in great shape and the rainwater drained well off the course. $28 for NMU Alumni 🧑‍🎓

Nice course. Well maintained. Very busy, though. They do not sell alcohol. So if you plan to drink, bring it with you. They DO NOT accept tee times more than a week out. Kind of a pain when planning a trip into the area. I would play here again.

Love the setup. It plays short but doesn't lack challenge between the undulating fairways and greens with plenty of dog legs, yet open enough that you shouldn't lose too many balls. Only thing keeping me from making this a 5 star was 2-3 of the fairways were in rough shape, but definitely reccomend playing if you're in the area.

Greens are in great shape. The fairways are good to fair. Tee boxes on the back 9 are in very poor repair. Front nine tee boxes are mostly okay. Trash cans are few and far between. Couple of tee boxes have pop and beer cans laying around because of no trash cans. No water available on the course. One pop machine on the front nine. However, there is water and pop are available in the pro shop. Food is not available. A grab and go cooler would be awesome. NMU does have grab and go available if they would set up a delivery to the course.

The grounds are never the same. Either too dry or too wet. The greens are always fast and feels like they are never watered enough to give and good putting game.

10/10. Walked 9 at a comfortable pace with no complaints. Feels like a mix between Forest Dunes and Garland in lower MI. 💚
