In summary

Oakhurst Golf Club receives mixed reviews, with some visitors appreciating the organized events and friendly restaurant staff. However, frequent criticisms include poor course conditions, such as problematic greens and fairways, and issues with customer service, particularly regarding the course marshal's behavior and management's response to feedback. While the restaurant is often praised, many golfers express dissatisfaction with the overall golfing experience.

12/25/25. I don't know anything about this course yet. I have read some not so good comments and some good comments. I will keep in mind what I read in the comments (good/bad) and I will make my own unbiased opinion and edit this comment. 12/26/25. The staff gave it another star. Ok so, I have played here before (I have memory issues) and it was the same as now, 3-4 stars. I don't remember if the chipping green and driving range was the same though. Myself and nephew played there and I don't know what's up with the bad reviews about this course. Some people will always complain about somethi…

Oakhurst Golf Course This was not my first time playing here, but it will absolutely be my last. The course was in poor condition across the board. Fairways were holding standing water to the point that we had to move our ball multiple times during play. The greens were in such bad shape that putts didn’t roll — they bounced their way toward the hole. You can’t read greens like that; you just hope. What truly ruined the experience, though, was the course marshal. We were part of a 6-team scramble, fully aware of pace expectations. Despite that, the marshal started harassing our group as ea…

I’m replying back to the owner since you can’t respond back to him. Yes, we showed up with just a twosome. The other two, which is a couple, had a family emergency that led into the early morning causing them not to show up. Yes, i was willing to pay for the other two with wallet in my pocket. You unfortunately didn’t give me that option, being you said immediately “well, I’m not letting yall play”. I then said “even if i pay for the other two” you said no cause there isn’t a twosome to group with us. With your rude and grouchy response of course I’m not going to give you money to play there.…

We played the Annual IAH tournament with the JE Dunn group today. The course was great. Very well organized and clean.

Booked at tee time for 4. The other two are a couple that had a family issue pop off and couldn’t show. The two that showed up got told we couldn’t play due to only having a twosome. Was told it’s for the pace of play when we wouldn’t have affected it what so ever. Was also willing to pay for the other 2 people so we could play. Owner is a disrespectful human that don’t care for anyone but himself and will come comment on reviews telling you you’re a hater. His other golf courses are way better due to him never being at them

Horrible golf course all around. Need a drill to get your tee in the ground, greens are horrible with mud patches and on almost every green. Sand pits are unplayable as you might as well hit off the cart path. Ever since the new owner , the course has just went down hill and it was pretty bad before too. Only thing this course has going for it is the restaurant. Do not recommend

I can see why they are the lowest rated golf course in town. And when someone writes an honest review the owner jumps on and tries to degrade them… maybe you should work on your staff. The course is in horrible condition, the pace of play is worse than I have seen in almost 10 years. No clue why the range is never open. This place needs new owners. Only pleasurable experience the whole time was the nice people at the restaurant…. They are not a part of the golf course and that’s obvious. Can’t wait to see the owner try to downplay it, and try to degrade me.

Had a 7:37 tee time today we had a starter that stood on the tee box with us and asked us only to take 1 ball? I have never been to a course that makes you do something like that… they said because of the pace of play they needed us to do that… maybe get Marshall’s that help with that not punish the people who are on the first tee coming out to have a good time. We only saw the cart girl one time which is ridiculous on a beautiful day. When we got to the turn the lady behind the counter told us we couldn’t get a breakfast taco because (David Preisler) told her it was taking to long so she coul…

My son and I went and we both rented clubs. Clubs were dented with very old grips. Paid $40 and to be honest the sets wasn't worth buying for that. Course layout was okay but in bad shape. The best part of this experience was the restaurant. Food was fantastic as was the service. I would go back to eat but will never golf there again. This place has so much potential but it needs lots of love and care.

Love the layout and is challenging. But the way they over book the tee times and then try to push everyone hard makes for a miserable golf experience. Its happening way too many times there. Everyone I've talked to has the some experience.

I have been a member for just over a year. The facilities and staff were well worth my membership, but I am honestly happy to say that over this past year the course has improved tremendously and the facilities are being expanded with a future chipping range. The "19th Hole" which is 3 B's on The Green has a great atmosphere, food and drink with with an exceptional staff as well. I am very pleased and look forward to a continued membership with great play and enjoyment.

Layout is good, conditions are average at this time of year. Range balls are junk!!! I don’t understand why they aren’t replaced. Ridiculous. The owner/manager should know this.
