In summary

Cypresswood Golf Club offers two 18-hole courses, with the Traditions Course often praised for its challenging layout and well-maintained conditions, while the Cypress Course is noted for being more forgiving and relaxed. The staff and overall atmosphere are generally seen as friendly and welcoming, contributing to a positive experience. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the condition of the Cypress Course greens and the pace of play, particularly on busy days.

Don’t believe what the Jason Anderson guy said, he’s just an angry person. No way they were charging $100 for the cypress course on a Sunday, maybe the traditional course but not the cypress. Yes the cypress course int that great, the greens are bad, but that’s because they are pulling up the green this summer and they aren’t going to put money into greens that are about to get ripped up. But as far as him saying both courses are bad, nah, traditions is super nice. Played it about 4 times in March. Fairways were lush and soft, greens were in superb conditions. Honestly had t played on a course…

Cypress course is in absolutely horrible condition for $74.00 Was told it was in great shape but it was NOT. This course used to be nice but save your money or play Tradition (which at times isn’t much better). Sad to see this place go downhill. Adjust the price at least!

Played both courses. Cypress was a great track but definitely has a fungus issue on the greens. I was told they are all being replaced soon. That being said they still rolled true and held great. Traditions was beautiful back to front. Greens were recently replaced (according to starter) and they were a smidge bumpy but overall great. Definitely play front to middle number as they are VERY firm. I’m a spinny player and had trouble holding some of them. Overall, can’t wait to play again and highly recommend. Especially being this great in February.

JUST PLAYED MARCH 1ST 2026 , these 2 courses use to be nice and in fair shape and price around 60 dollars for the course conditions and lack of amenities. Now they have jacked up the price AGAIN for no new amenities, yes they are adding a new clubhouse but they expect you to pay for it before it is even built......they now charge 100 dollars to play the cheaper course and BOTH COURSES ARE IN VERY POOR CONDITION and the GREENS ARE UNPUTTABLE due to the disease and poanna weeds, it is like the price is right game PLINKO......SAVE YOUR MONEY AND PLAY ELSEWHERE UNTIL THEY GET THERE COURSES PLAYABL…

I recently played a round at Cypresswood Golf Club just north of Houston and came away impressed with the overall experience. The club features two full 18-hole courses, the Traditions Course and the Cypress Course, set among mature trees, water features, and well-placed bunkers that give the property a classic parkland feel. The Traditions Course stands out as the more challenging of the two and offers a strong test of golf without feeling unfair. Tee shots require some thought, and approach shots into the greens reward accuracy. The layout flows nicely through the property, with enough vari…

Horrible pace. Horrible value. Horrible management. Good course. They set tee times every 8 minutes which is the most asinine idea. Minimum 5.5-6 hour round. Minimum. Course is pretty dry and hard but they haven’t had much. Carts are also in bad shape, had to get a second sent out.

Played two rounds in one week which were completely opposite experiences. Note there is no clubhouse right now... Cypress course = 2 stars due to poor course condition & pace of play (I left before finishing) Tradition course = 5 stars due to excellent course condition & cart girl 👀

Played the Cypress course for the 1st time and would definitely come back. Fairways and greens are in really good condition. Fun layout. The clubhouse is going through renovations but made no difference to me. Friendly front desk staff and Marshall. I saw a lot of reviews complaining about pace of play but my group finished in about 4h15m. There were points of congestion but never felt particularly slow compared to other courses. The visibility of other holes through some sparse tree lines gives an illusion that there are a ton of people on the course which probably adds to the feeling that ev…

I played there on 12/27/25 The course is actually nice but the staff and the management need to actually work. The starter literally watched the group in front of us take almost 20 minutes on the first hole (and hitting multiple balls) and did nothing about it. Our group had to wait about 20 minutes to tee off in every hole and there was never a Marshall. Then one of our carts died and it took them almost 30 minutes to bring us another one. In 4 and a half hours we only played 11 holes. Not worth the drive and the green fee.

James is an amazing starter/marshall. He really makes our day out here so damn nice. Definitely recommend coming out to Traditions course. Look out for James and Haley as the beer cart girl. Completely different experience with them on board. Great job, Cypresswood!

Visiting from San Antonio, had planned on playing two other courses in town. But at the last moment I noticed they had two 18-hole courses here. Change my plans and ended up at Cypresswood. Played the Tradition course on Monday 10/9/23. Played Cypress on Tuesday 10/10/23. Both courses were in excellent shape. Tradition was the more scenic and a little bit more wide open course. It did have sand traps right where my ball with land unfortunately. Greens were in great shape fairways tee boxes everything really looking good after all the heat we've had here in South Texas. Cypress course was a lit…

Traditions Course has always been my favorite. One of the few challenges in the past was not having a midway restroom for women. I’m so happy to say that’s been fixed—there’s now a clean, permanent restroom available for women! No more porta-potties (though I will say, the porta-potties were nicer than most). It’s such a welcome change to be able to use a clean, real restroom while out on the course. This upgrade makes an already great course even better.
