In summary

Atascocita Golf Club is appreciated for its friendly staff, well-maintained practice facilities, and the challenging layout of its 27-hole course. However, some visitors have raised concerns about the condition of certain greens and tee boxes, limited availability of water stations on the course, and occasional issues with golf cart availability. Despite these criticisms, many find the course enjoyable and a good value, particularly for its location and overall experience.

What happen to this place?! Charging $83 for a round like this? Every green is similar to the first one, doesn’t get better. Played pinehurst to pines, tee boxes are sandboxes, greens run fast bc there’s no grass just weeds. I pulled up and pickleball side was packed vs the golf side and I can see why. $83 dollars should be a highway robbery, they need to fix a whole lot before charging golfers that price. Go play somewhere else until they fix everything. Plus side they had a cart girl running the whole time to keep you drinking so you don’t pay attention to the greens.

It was a tough start to say the least. Arrived 25 min before tee time @ 2 pm and no carts available. Didn't have time to hit the range so straight to the course once we were finally able to get carts. We were told to play Point (front 9 holes) and Pinehurst (back 9 holes). As we started Pinehurst the back 9... There were no flags... made it to hole 3 and called but apparently Pinehurst was closed and we were supposed to play (Shores). Proceeded to play the Shores holes and about 5 holes in one of the golf carts die... At this point we were over, we didn't even get to finish 18 holes. This was…

First time playing this course. Its amazing how Houston has so many great courses. The 27 hole course is well maintained, greens roll fast but could use some care in some holes. As others pointed out, though there are some areas in the fairway which have slow draining but the layout, driving range and the super friendly staff more than make up for these small imperfections. Definately a recommend and will revisit soon.

Booked Tee times for 4 individuals and was required to pay for the entire group in advance, by credit card. Went to this course to hit some balls on the driving range about 2 days before the tee time (date and time) and was told that the range was unavailable due to maintenance that was taking place, and that the driving range was unavailable to anyone who was not a member, anyway. I will not be golfing at this facility in the future, as the rates for Tour 18 are comparable and Tour 18 is a much better maintained golf course, and not much farther from my home. Bye Bye Atascocita Gold Club too…

Walking course when there is a tournament. Just be advised there are a minimal amount of carts for rent at the course. So if you’re planning to attend a tournament here wear comfortable walking clothes and shoes!

Apparently the course is too cheap to have water coolers on the course. At minimum at least have available on the turn. They cited covid… which was certainly a relevant excuse 3 years ago. Recently played Walden, Oakhurst, and Kingwood in the area and they all have water at some point on the course. It’s literally 100 degrees outside in the middle of summer in Houston, TX. Just ridiculous. Tee boxes are in terrible shape, however, fairways and greens were very nice and playable. I rarely do reviews but something had to be said since a manager wasn’t available today. Staff were friendly, overal…

Played Point on rainy day & saw lots of standing water. Had to play lift &clean. Several greens in bad shape as in patches of dirt. Fringe around green had tall blades of St Augustine grass instead of normal short grass. So totally different chipping & putting game required. Staff very friendly& helpful. Pace of play good for a Saturday. Will play again on a drier day for comparison.

I played Atascocita Golf Club on Sunday around 11 a.m. The pro shop was nice, staff were friendly, and the practice facilities with complimentary range balls were a great touch. The course itself was in good condition and enjoyable to play. However, there were no water stations on the course, which was a serious issue given the 90+ degree heat and high UV index. Most courses provide water, and not having any available made the round uncomfortable and unsafe. I had to rely on purchasing drinks from the cart throughout the round. While the facilities and staff were excellent, I won’t be return…
