In summary

Ocala National Golf Club is frequently praised for its challenging and scenic layout, featuring rolling hills and classic design elements that appeal to many golfers. The staff receives positive remarks for their friendliness and helpfulness, contributing to a generally pleasant experience. However, several visitors express concerns about the course's maintenance, particularly regarding the condition of the bunkers, fairways, and tee boxes, which some feel detract from the overall experience. Despite these issues, many find the course to be a good value for the price, with potential for improvement.

Wake Forest condition is in absolute shambles come on don't even get me started on the t-box conditions or greens. The bunkers have filled sand like they dug it out from a random hole somewhere. Don't waste your money. Not worth the $45....

Do not waist your money. Course is in terrible condition. No grass on any tee Bunkers are unplayable , no water on course. Carts are junk ! Stopped running after 8 holes?? Talking to someone in parking lot said their cart died on course too and when they called the club house they told them they had to walk ? 90.00 dollars for two . Never again!!!!!!

Save your money and play somewhere else. The course is not in good shape at all. Lost multiple brand new balls simply because the grass is so long in bounds that you can't find them. New bar area is very nice, probably should have spent some of that money on the course conditions. Staff is very friendly, but we won't be back for awhile.

I have been playing this golf course for 30 years, and it breaks my heart a bit to see the condition of the course and the breakdown in operations here. Nothing has been overseeded, the fairways and rough are a mess, the bunkers are unplayable, and the greens feel like they are hanging on by a thread -- still rolling OK but they don't appear healthy. Not only are the tee boxes falling apart, but there aren't even sets of tee markers. The staff is friendly and working hard, but there aren't nearly enough people working on this property. Too many details are being missed. For instance, our golf…

Very pleasurable experience at Ocala National today. Condition were decent with exception of the sand traps. With that said, I love the layout and the wide open tree lined fairways.

Fairways, tee boxes and bunkers are over grown; greens are so-so

Very old course. Great layout. Could be really a diamond in the rough if they put some money into it. Great elevation changes. Gave 3 stars because the course needs better maintenance. Grass growing in bunkers, fairways and greens need to be cut a little lower. But very fun course

Very long challenging course. The greens are fantastic, fairways needs some help and the rough needs to be cut shorter. Its to easy to roll out of the fairway and lose your ball in the long grass. Worst part of the course are the poorly marked tee boxes. It is so easy to cut some 4×4 blocks paint them and put them out. But, no management wants you to waste time looking for your tee box with missing markers. I did enjoy he course otherwise.

Played here for the first time and really enjoyed it. Course was in great shape (other than the sand traps). Plan to return soon.

While the golf course is on a limited budget, I guarantee you that this golf course will test the best golfers from the tips. Fairways and greens are great and yes, the bunkers, rough and tea boxes need some work, but if you want a true test of golf in a fantastic layout that make sure you stop here. Jason and the staff are phenomenal and for the price I will stop there anytime I am in the area. It is a golf course that with the right investment could be the Bethpage of Florida.
