In summary

Ocean Pines Golf & Country Club is appreciated for its well-designed layout and the welcoming atmosphere provided by the staff. However, many visitors express dissatisfaction with the course's maintenance, citing issues with greens, fairways, and overall conditions. Additionally, some golfers experience slow pace of play and feel the course does not currently offer good value for the price.

The worst course I ever played. The course was poorly maintained. The greens and fairways were dry and full of holes. We waited 5-10 minutes at every hole and ended up quitting because we caught up to Four other groups that were waiting to tee off at 16. We started at 12:30 and by the time we quit it was 4:30. Would not recommend this course.

Couse is laid out very nice, however it was not in good shape and needs quite a bit of effort to bring back up to speed. There were weeds on the greens, many places the rough was not grass - weeds that made it tough to locate your ball if just off the fairway. Like I say, it is a nicely laid out course, but due to condition not a very good experience.

Played yesterday, 10/11/25. Gave it a 3 only because it was playable enough to not ruin a round, but definitely not worth the money at this point. We pretty much expect good conditions when playing courses in resort areas. Even if the course isn’t the best layout or not up there with your favorites, you can still enjoy the round if the course is in good shape. Ocean Pines is not in good shape. Tee boxes were bad. Sparse and not level. Fairways, ehh, can always roll it a few inches to get a lie. Not a big deal. Traps weren’t bad, but a couple were a little thin on sand. The greens, not good. We…

We played Ocean Pines this past weekend as part of a golf package. The conditions were disgraceful. On par with a $40 muni. They gave me a receipt for the group, so I know the tour operator paid $125 per player and that didn’t include range balls which were $9 for a bucket to hit balls off of weedy sand. Ancient gas powered carts, no cooler, no water, no GPS. Just about every single green surround was patchy grass. The greens had many bare spots. If your tour operator books you on this course demand to be put somewhere else.

Very nice RT Jones course with his usual design attributes: smallish greens, no man made mounding, lots of dog legs where bunkers, trees and water force you to play a shot the hole requires. There are few very memorable holes, but not a weak hole among them. Greens rolled well if I little on the slow side; traps have good sand; fairways give you a good lie almost every time. I will definitely return.

Am on vacation in OC and brought my clubs, ready to play this course as it’s close to the house I am renting. Unfortunately, due to so many RECENT bad reviews here on Google I am choosing to drive a little further and play another course. I am making this review because if I were the owner/manager of this course, I would want to know. Good luck guys!

In the Autumn of 2016, a reviewer somehow rated this course a 1-star. Either he shot a 140 or their review was clearly disingenuous. It is impossible that the course I played yesterday could've been a true 1-star experience. Playing mainly in the Williamsburg, VA area, my reference courses are very highly rated. From that perspective I submit the following review of Ocean Pines: Course Layout: A+ RTJ clearly earned his high ratings as one of America's top course architects. In 1972, the hole routings must have been so much harder with persimmon woods and balata balls. Today's distance and acc…

I have played Ocean Pines GC for 25 years and always enjoyed it. However, don’t waste your money. The course is the worse I have ever seen. Sand on tee boxes, fairways and numerous bare spots on the entire course. I’m embarrassed to take friends now. Other golf clubs in the area are in great shape. So don’t let the staff tell you it’s because of the unusual amount of rain and heat this summer. The maintenance is horrible.

I’m a part time resident of Ocean Pines so I like to support the golf course when I’m in town so I played 9 holes the other night. The new clubhouse is nice but the golf shop is tiny and doesn’t have much in it. The course itself is in absolutely terrible condition. They used to brag that they had the best greens on the shore but they are the worst greens I have played on maybe ever. I won’t be back anytime soon.

Course was in horrible shape all around. Tee boxes were full of sand, not grass. Fairways had many bare patches. Bunkers had weeds growing in them. Greens were slow and bumpy. Fringes also had bare spots and/or weeds. Pace of play was incredibly slow. It took us five hours and fifteen minutes to play 18 holes. I won’t be playing here again.

Came here as guests on a cold beach day, and we are very glad we did. Spent the morning at the ocean pines indoor pool then came here. The staff was very welcoming to us (nonmembers) and helped with renting clubs. The gentleman who worked the carting/placing people on the course did an awesome job. He staggered people around the course so people were not bottle necked or felt rushed. He was very nice to talk to and made the golfing trip even better.
