In summary

Olympic View Golf Club is praised for its beautiful and challenging course layout, friendly staff, and excellent dining options, making it a popular choice for both golf and events like weddings. The course is generally well-maintained, with scenic features such as a waterfall adding to its appeal. However, some visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with temporary construction impacting play and feel that the course conditions do not always justify the high green fees, particularly when not informed of these issues in advance.

We chose Olympic View Restaurant for our wedding anniversary dinner and overall had a pleasant evening. The ambience was great!Elegant, calm, and quiet enough to comfortably enjoy a meaningful conversation, which we really appreciated for a special occasion. The food quality was generally good. The cream chowder with focaccia stood out and was excellent, and the pork rib was nicely prepared and enjoyable. Wagyu gyoza was not my fav but the decoration made it look fancy enough for the night. However, the braised beef short rib was a bit disappointing for us, as it was quite dry and salty and d…

Amazing food, Amazing Grass driving range and challenging beautiful golf course!! Oh, and great staff too. If I may suggest, One major upgrade the driving range NEEDS to employ is to add at least 12-20 MORE flags showing yardage distances so as to know how far you're hitting balls. This should be an easy and not cost prohibitive upgrade and will add to both the enjoyment and betterment of golf so one for example knows the gapping distance differences between irons.

Played on June1st, was visiting relatives in Sidney so booked a single.Reservations process was hassle free, pro shop staff and starter very friendly, good practice facility… the day began very well. Play in Muskoka, Ontario so am used to rock outcrops and trees, but OV is a challenging course if it is your first visit. Many tee shots require careful club selection with some blind corners and elevation changes so know your distances, play conservatively, keep it in the fairway and you’ll do fine. The rough is unforgiving.Fairways well conditioned except for a few tee boxes which just need a bi…

Always love the food there. Nice to sit on the patio on a sunny day. They have date night, prime rib night, and happy hour. I love the salmon burger with balsamic onion jam. And the rum float drink.

We had a lovely round. The course was beautiful. Everyone we encountered was very helpful. We came in low season so there was a bit of construction on some of the holes but it wasn't overly disruptive.

Had to play with dirty balls even tho I had a shower before the game. There were no ball washers on the course. There were no signs to show the hole. No way to figure out how far anything is. We asked if there was a book or a detailed scorecard at the clubhouse and since we didn't rent a cart they didn't care! There was not even a bench to wait for the next group on multiple holes The name Olympic View is very misleading as there were NO mountain or ocean views. It felt very basic for the price. The only nice holes were the last 4 all others were very standard. I guess I expected a lot more fo…

Played Olympic View on Thursday April 16th, and have been stewing about the experience ever since. Should I review or not? Should I write it off to early season golf on Vancouver Island? And decided nope, need to express my concerns. I've played Olympic View for over 30 years and it has always been a favorite, Certainly challenging for a high handicapper, but fun nonetheless. Not this time. Paid $156.00 for golf, cart and small bucket. No notification from the proshop it was cart path only, but that was no surprise considering the rain the area has had in March and April. But what we weren't…

Solid course for all skill levels. Most people walk if in decent shape. 14 holes are relatively flat. Two downhill narrow par 4 to start where you can hit anything from an iron to a hybrid then mostly moderate elevation changes until the steep hill from 17 green to 18 tee. Two holes on the back also will hit iron; other than that, it’s Driver and let ‘er rip. The front nine has some adjacent holes where need to watch for balls from other groups. The back nine has more separation of holes and more interesting terrain. Both sides have a hole with picturesque rock side waterfall. Course condition…

Great track, friendly staff, excellent food, but DO NOT play here any time soon unless you are OK playing just 15 holes. We played on April 10 2026 and paid $135.31 for the round including cart. We were not informed that 3 holes were on temporary greens and some par 4's were reduced to par 3's. Would have thought we would have been told at time of booking and green fees would be reduced.

Beautiful, classy venue to have your wedding at. Staff are friendly and attentive. The man-made water-fall makes for a stunning photo backdrop, and the grounds are kept pristine. Not to mention the food from Table19 is great here! As a wedding photographer, I love shooting at Olympic View, it's a great spot.

We got married at Olympic View and had the most amazing wedding. Katrina, Bree and all the staff were so helpful and it is very clear they are a well oiled machine when it comes to weddings. All of our guests commented about how amazing the food was, how beautiful the venue was and how great all of the staff were. We had everything we need and more and I cannot recommend them enough!

Have to agree with recent posts, and wished I'd checked the reviews before booking. Very disappointing course conditions for the rates that are being charged. We were only notified of all the temporary greens when checking in with the Starter. Tee boxes and greens on the front nine were in terrible condition. Back nine was enjoyable. $8.00 for two coffees was also shocking. Likely won't return on our next visit to Victoria.
