In summary

Painted Hills Golf Course receives praise for its generally well-maintained greens and fairways, with some visitors noting the course's good condition even after rain. The staff is often described as friendly, and the course is considered a good value for the price. However, there are frequent criticisms regarding the slow pace of play, crowded conditions, and issues with tee time management. The clubhouse and facilities are also commonly mentioned as needing improvement.

What is known as Kansas’s oldest course, PH offers a modest challenge but not much difficulty, even if you are a newbie. Today the course was a little crowded, but our foursome still finished in great time. Gas carts with no GPS so bring your device. Clubhouse is old, very messy and just run down. Inside restrooms are equally bad. There is a dark and dingy snack bar and small limited pro shop on the first floor. The clubhouse area as a whole needs to be torn down and rebuilt. The course is in phenomenal shape with great fairways and pretty good tee boxes. Greens are not too fast but you need t…

Painted Hills is a public golf course. It is pretty easy to find availability. The people on the course and in the clubhouse are all friendly and neighborly. The skill level of most players on the course was below my level, and that is not good. There isn’t much space between the hole you are on and the hole next to you running the other way. There were times when we were definitely in danger of getting hit with stray balls. There were many more times than usual when we had to wait for duffers to search for lost balls. Perhaps one third of the greens were notably small. Most of the greens were…

Had a 3pm tee time, we started 10 minutes late and were backed up by 2 groups by the third hole. We got to hole six after 2 hours and there was 8 people playing together on the 7th green. Was told we could skip to the back nine and we get there and it was also backed up by two groups. We ended up just leaving, and getting a full refund. Wouldn’t recommend unless this course figures out their shit and people actually have a sense of self awareness.

My first time coming here I booked a 7am T. And no one showed up to work for the course until about 820 had people waiting for hours. They issued rain checks to make up for it cool. I then book a T time for the following week. This time they removed me from the schedule on the computer and added someone else to my T time and then said you can wait 2 hours to play. I said I can’t make that time and was not even issued a new rain checks. So would I recommend this place to anyone. Never. Nope. Worst experience and no customer care.

First time not playing for my school, was an awesome time playing. Decided to play after it rained in the morning so the bunkers were less-than-ideal. Not the course's fault though. Would come back!

This course is a joke, if it's not someone walking directly across the green when I'm about to swing, it's some one from another hole hitting over the flag when I'm trying to putt. And the holes are not spread out so their is balls flying by you from other holes. It's more of a warzone between dodging balls and trying to avoid hitting someone with a goofball. This course is a mediocre rating for a reason. Also I was twilight and some how still 40 dollars. Go play some where else. This course is a joke

I understand golf is popular these days and therefore prices are a little higher. Supply and demand. Having said that, I played around noon on a Saturday and it cost just over $60. I wish I had taken photos of the course, especially the holes where the fairways were actually unplayable. I wouldn't play this course again unless it was less than $40. Another local course ruined by Great Life. Update: i played this course about 6 weeks after my initial review and had a better experience. I played for about $45 and the course was in better shape. I'm now giving 3 stars instead of 1.

The course was mostly in good shape. They are working on one fairway so it turned a par 4 into a par 3. All the other fairways were fine. The greens were pretty good at holding shots, but the speed of the greens was a little random. None were overly fast. I really enjoyed my latest round there.

While the pace of play was very slow on a Saturday morning, I am looking forward to playing there again during the week. We enjoyed the course and found the greens and fairways in reasonably good condition. A good value for the cost.

For as many bad reviews as this place gets, it was a great expirence playing it for the first time on memorial day weekend. Pace was no issue, took about 4.5 hours, the course was in better shape than what people were saying. There were some rough spots but every course has them. I would say it was too expensive for what the quality was but it was still a good time.

The course is well maintained, even after all the rain we had recently.

Course is overgrown with weeds. Turf not taken care of. You get what you pay for. Great life has done a great job trashing another decent course.
