In summary
Pali Golf Course is appreciated for its stunning views and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for visitors seeking a scenic golfing experience. However, many golfers express concerns about the course's maintenance, citing issues with overgrown grass, damaged greens, and a lack of amenities. While the course offers a challenging layout, its condition and facilities may not meet the expectations of those seeking a well-maintained golfing environment.

Windward Beauty with a Taste of History The Pali Golf Course in Kaneohe doesn't just offer a round of golf. It offers a round of golf below the exact ridgeline where King Kamehameha the Great unified the Hawaiian Islands in battle, one of the most consequential moments in Pacific history. Designed by Willard Wilkinson in 1953, this 18-hole municipal course has a natural terrain that no architect could have invented: rolling hills, dense valleys, a meandering stream, and trade winds that make every approach shot a conversation. Here's what struck us during our visit for Smartgolfcourses: th…

Got out of meetings early and decided to the Pali a try. This course has a lot of potential unfortunately it doesn’t seem the city (muni course) is willing to spend the money. It is a somewhat easy and straightforward track, where 95% is dead straight which is good for beginners and families. And the views from around the course are amazing, and those that many courses would kill to have. As others have stated the staff is very friendly and welcoming which is always nice. Now the downside, there are no fairways, it’s like playing in a field that hasn’t been mowed and is being overtaken by we…

5 stars for the views alone. First tee time for an awesome sunrise. Course is in okay shape for the most part. So green everywhere. It’s a muni so don’t expect world class, but it’s good.

This course was beautiful. Staff were friendly. For it being a city owned course, it was in great shape. No complaints. Considering most places on the island are $200 per person, this is a great bargain.

Played here during a company's trip. The layout is nice for weekend golfers. The fairway grass here is really thick. It's challenging to utilize your irons correctly. The greens are terrible on most of the greens. The view is nice.

I just play pali golf course (municipal). All the emp was very friendly and nice. View was awesome ( best view in oahu). Weather was cool and breezy about 75 degrees. Compare to honolulu about 5 to 10 degree lower. And we finished in 3 hours and ten minutes for 18 hole. It was beautiful day except golf course condition was awful. Fairway and green was terrible . Fairway -there is no fairway all cover with 3 inch native grass and crabgrass. can't find any playable grass. Green - has Bermuda grass but bad condition. Im retired about 6 years. play 4 to 5 time week mostly municipal (like Ala wai,…

This is a municipal golf course with beautiful views and friendly staff, though maintenance is somewhat lacking. The driveway to the club house is full of potholes and the fairways aren't well mowed. Our family had a fun golf outing however, given the decent prices and a friendly course even for beginners.

Nice course. Can be wet but keeps the area green. This is a long course and a bit challenging. The fairways are wide enough that losing a ball isn’t too often, that said heads up for stray shots. Hey, this is a fun course and well maintained. The desk staff are friendly and very accommodating. I got paired up with a couple of guys and made some new friends. This side of the island can be cooler so that’s a bonus on those hot august days.

Not the best municipal golf course on island. This course is situated next to the mountain, so expect a lot of up and down hills, raised greens or elevated tee boxes. Lots of trees, bushes and straight up forest near a lot of the holes to eat up you golf balls. Ball breaks away from the mountain, even if it looks like it won't. The grass on the whole course is usually long, it is located on the rainy side of the island so the grass probably grows fast. Tee boxes: Most tee boxes have grass, a few are a little bare. The grass look like the typical crab/lawn grass with weeds. When we went, the g…

This golf course was amazing. The views were amazing. The greens were just right now of course all that depends on care of the course and the weather. They also started having a local vendor there named off the leash hotdogs.

I really enjoyed the course. I'm not a beginner, but definitely an amateur and found the course fairly challenging but not in a bad way. No beer/food options, but they don't seem to frown on bringing your own cooler. The views are spectacular!

Had a very off-putting interaction at check-in today. When the starter asked for my ID to verify a local discount, I clarified that it was a Montana ID. Her response to me was “No, gross.” - after viewing. It’s disappointing to be met with that kind of attitude before even stepping onto the course. The service definitely didn't match the quality of the facility and it honestly felt very bigoted.
