Peacock Gap Country Club

Very friendly and inviting staff, wonderful practice facility, and a nice neighborhood country club style layout, with a beautiful surroundings and atmosphere. This was my second time playing the course and while the greens were sandy after just being aerated, I had a great time with friends. Excellent place to spend a morning or afternoon.

Played PG today. A fun track with some challenging holes. Fairways are pretty good, greens look nice but were on the slow side…maybe an 8. Its breezy here so its gonna feel cooler. Thanks for having me!

The clubhouse looks nice 👍, but the course itself is just fine. Not much design here, all straight ahead fairways, but get to see some nice scenaries here, lucky to play here during 🍂🍁 autumn, the maple trees beautify the course a lot. Hole 10 is the first hole woke me up, downhill Par 3, couple bunkers around the green, slope on the green, starting to get challenging. I also like Hole 12, dogleg and slope on the green, that's it.

I play here twice a month and enjoy it. The course is very playable with interesting holes. The cafe is a reliabley great lunch with good service and tasty sandwiches. salmon salad was excellent. BLT is not on the menus but always available and delicious. Free refills on cranberry and sodas.

I have had the opportunity to play over 30 rounds of golf at Peacock Gap in San Rafael. As a club fitter working in the industry and someone who takes golf seriously, I had initially established pleasant arrangements at this club and even referred people for lessons. Great staff and fellow golfers. Friendly and very organized club culture to make the experience even more memorable. Practice facility is all grass. Got to experience a wedding on the course the same day. Short but challenging course and the greens are in great shape!

Had a last minute cancellation in our foursome and guy in pro shop gave me a little bit of a hassle about it. That I should have called. He was right and I told him that. Apologized. So we get out to the first green and it was freshly punched and sanded. No mention of that when I made the time. No mention in the pro shop. No discount. No apologies. Drive 45 minutes to play greens punched within the week. Place turns into an absolute swamp in the winter so there’s that too.

Great course. But super slow. And marshals just drive around and do absolutely nothing to help with pace of play.

In an area of few public courses this is a real gem. I drove by to check out the driving range and ended up playing the back nine. The staff at the pro shop set me up right on the spot and was super helpful. As for the course its in great shape. The greens in particular were firm with a good amount of slope making for a good challenge. The course isnt long but there are well placed bunkers and water hazards to make for for a variety of shot making oppurtunities. Highlight of round was the par 3 16th, see photo. I've only played the course once, but I'll definitely be back. The conditions are pretty good considering the winter rains we had, so they will only get better. The course is not long, but fairway bunkers are placed strategically to make you decide to risk trying to fly them or lay up a bit. There are also some tight fairways with water hazards to make you pucker and penalize wayward shots. There's a nice combination of elevation changes along with flat holes, straight holes and dog legs - too much of one type or the other is all too common with most courses.
