In summary

Mill Valley Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic beauty, nestled among redwoods with views of Mt. Tam, and offers a challenging yet enjoyable 9-hole layout. The staff is frequently described as friendly, and the course provides a good value for the price. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, such as hard greens and poor fairway conditions, as well as a lack of clear signage, which can make navigation difficult for newcomers.

Great 9 hole course. It's laid back, it's fun, not too serious, and you'll enjoy walking around with your friends while playing. It can get pretty hilly so make sure to use a hand cart.

Love this course, but they just recently changed the layout of the course, you'll need to range find yourself the yardage. And Mill Valley reminds me the Deep Cliff course at South Bay, quiet and elegant 😄 Like Hole 7 (the old Hole 4) the most, a big down and left to right slope in front of tee box, and then followed by the uphill green 💚 Hole 9 is another beauty, 2 lines of trees lined up narrowly (less than 30 yards in between) in front of tee box, you have the drive accurately to get through it .

We have visited the Mill Valley Golf Course a couple of times now. What a treat to be had there for sure. It is a walking course with beautiful scenery. Some holes are lined with redwoods which are majestic. There are some Par 4 holes that are not that long such as hole 1. I was able to drive the green from the tee box to my dismay. On the green with one stroke is not my norm for sure. Some tee boxes are on artificial turf which would be my only drawback. This is a gem of a 9 hole course which you can walk easily. We will be back for sure. The staff is welcoming.

Beautiful course! It feels like you’re in the middle of a forest! Hole 3 is a bit confusing as your tea box is over 2 putting greens. Seems a bit dangerous in a couple spots to where you could walk right where someone is driving the ball, however this is an amazing must try course! Very nice employee s and dog friendly!

What a fun course! Definitely challenging for a beginner/early-intermediate but the beauty of the course makes it worth it. Only recommendation for the staff is make it easier to find the tees. Otherwise, this is probably the most beautiful course I've ever played at. Highly recommend!

This is tough......as I think you must consider the horrible weather we had this winter and the effect it had. But as it stands today in early April, the conditions, specifically in the middle of the fairways and just off the greens, are the worst I've ever seen. The starter said "you'll lose some balls" and said he'd warned others as well. But I didn't think he meant in the middle of the fairways! He was right, I lost at least 3 in the fairways and several other times I had to hunt for several minutes to find them (see pictures for proof). That being said, I was so impressed with the natural…

Best 9 hole track in entire Bay Area. Twenty bucks for pure greens spectacular views of Mt. Tam, cold beer and great local vibe. If you haven't played it you need to.

Rustic nine holer that is surrounded by redwood trees. There are no long hours, but the green complexes are very challenging. You can play this course quickly, and meet the friendly golfers that play here regularly.

A beautiful and well-kept hidden gem. I love playing here, there are always great people around, the course is fun, and the views are lovely.

Beautiful setting, especially late in the day as the sun is setting. Enjoyable, but very difficult. Tiny greens, tight fairways, Augusta-like width on some tee boxes. Burning legs from the endless hills. No signage from hole to hole, we'd have been totally lost if we didn't keep an eye on some other groups. Could use some better drainage as there was a ton of mud, and please add some directional signage for first timers, but overall it was fun!

Mill Valley Golf Course has a few pros and many cons which lead me to rate 3 stars. Pros: -The only golf course in the area -Friendly staff -Great price (18 bucks via golf now for 9) Gorgeous scenery (and im not joking the redwoods on 5 tee were spectacular see photos) Cons: The incredible difficulty of the course shown through due to the conditions it was in. Including: -Rock hard greens -Little to no signage on where the next tee is (i got lost for 15 mins trying to find 6 tee and literally walked into a old abondoned camping ground to find the 7th tee) -Extreme changes in elevation (this…

As an Olympic Club member and Golf addict, I can truly say that the Golf Experience at MV9 is as good as they come... I challenge all Scratch golfers to equal Par and there is no way that players of all abilities and ages won't be sufficiently Wowed by the natural Beauty and tested by the Shot selections.
