In summary

Point Mallard Golf Course is appreciated for its challenging layout and scenic setting, with some visitors noting good customer service and reasonable pricing during off-peak times. However, many reviews highlight issues with course maintenance, such as patchy fairways and poor greens, and frequent complaints about the conduct of the marshals, which some found to be rude and unhelpful. Additionally, the course's tendency to become wet and soggy after rain is a concern for some golfers.

They had really good customer service. They have a guy actually meet you and talk to you about the course before you get your cart and it's pretty cool. The course is pretty fun, the greens and tee boxes are nice, it's got nice scenery to play in. The only problem I have is a lot of the fairways were pretty rough. A lot of dirt and sandy patchy areas. But not in the center just off to the sides. All in all I'd play again for sure.

Marshal harassed us the whole time. We were a group of Federal non-paid employees trying to relax but the Marshall was extremely rude following us and telling us we were too slow. He acted like it was a burden for us to be on the course.

Really had the audacity to have me pay to reserve a tee time. After 30 years of golf , I am of course, familiar with the practice. This course is no where near the course they think they are. Still look and plays exactly how it did in 2002. Barely step up from Indian hills, yet RTJ prices. Course probably still floods. Absolutely not worth the money

I’m from out of town for work. Played here twice this week. Older gentleman in the pro shop was very polite and prices. The course condition is so so. Very hard and patchy fairways and some greens are very terrible. But it’s a public city run course so it is what it is. Older heavy set Marshall/starter was a condescending jerk from the time we met him before teeing off... I hit a second ball off the first tee box due to a slicing my first ball into the trees. He came over to say “we don’t have time to hit 2 or 3 balls. I don’t want to see you playing like that”…… sir, we were a 2 some waiting…

Marshall’s were insanely passive aggressive. Group of guys hit while we were playing and the ball landed 2 feet from us. Marshall’s acted like it was our fault then told us we needed to calm down when they group of guys that almost hit us surrounded us in the parking lot trying to fight about them almost hitting us. Definitely won’t be coming back to this hell hole. Not worth the money or the frustration.

Heads up...don't leave a club, they'll sell it after 30-days!!! TBH, I'd be surprised if they actually held onto them for that long before profiting off of your loss! I left a 64 degree Tour Grey Calloway PM Grind Lob Wedge on April 28th. Unfortunately, I don't get to play as much as I'd like to. A little over a month went by before I had the opportunity to get out on the course again and realized I was missing my favorite club. I knew that it was highly unlikely that they would still have it, in the off chance that someone had even turned it in. What bothered me though, is how unconcerned…

Greens were in okay condition, but the fairways were incredibly dry and dusty. This resulted in being covered in dust after every swing. Simply not worth the $45 to play 18.

Point Mallard used to be a great course, today it's a dumpster fire. Greens are being resodded, but still have bad spots that have not been touched. Fairways #1, 7, 9, 10, 15, and 17 are terrible. No over seeding, no sand, no replacement sod in the above mention fairways. Don't waste your time or money on this place!!

TRASH! This place used to be a bargain and in good shape. Now the greens are in terrible shape, the fairways are dirt and weeds. Cart path only on Par 5s in 95 degree weather. What course has cash only beverage cart in 2024 and only 3 hotdogs at the turn at noon on a Saturday. Don't waste your money here, go to a course in Athens or Huntsville if you can.

This was the wettest course I've ever played . Swamp like conditions, runoff was terrible. Storm was 3 days prior. First time I've ever had a 7.5 hour game stuck behind 2 groups of 5. Wild ...wasted 50$ greens had literall sod missing 😂 half the greens were just bunkers as the sod missing was filled with sand...full price for that play is rough.

Maybe if Bobby would stop harassing us we'd have been able to enjoy it more

Point Mallard Golf Course needs to make some personnel changes immediately. The staff and marshalls were rude, acting like they are doing you a favor by letting you play the course. This used to be one of my favorite courses to play in north Alabama. But probably now my least favorite. Fix it guys.
