In summary

Pole Valley Players Club, now known as Hartford Greens, is often praised for its well-maintained greens, scenic views, and enjoyable layout that accommodates both beginners and advanced golfers. The staff is frequently described as friendly and accommodating, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While many appreciate the improvements made by the new owners, some criticisms include inconsistent fairway conditions and the absence of a full clubhouse.

Love this place! Best golf course for us locals. Not usually that crowded. Great owners. Spectacular greens. In fact, nobody's greens are comparable. Hidden gem of a golf course ⛳

Great course! Very friendly people. It was my first time here today and everyone was very accommodating. Thanks to Sandy and to the gentleman behind the counter, I'll definitely be back!!!

This course really is a "hidden gem". Course has a lot of nice views, a very good layout and the greens are in very good condition. We played from the white tees and it only took 3 hours and forty minutes to play. The blue tees looked like they would challenge any player. This isn't a course set up by an amateur designer as are many other courses in the area. At some point, the owner might want to improve the drainage in a few spots and enlarge some of the tees but he's already done a lot of improvements. Had a nice lunch afterwards at a reasonable price;

I would like to give this place 5 stars, because the price to play is low $15 to walk, the greens and fringes are perfect and the layout is one of my favorites in the area. The holes are all different with many interesting views. Also the owner who works the pro shop and works from dawn to dusk on this place is a nice guy. I can't give it 5 stars, but I will say that if I lived closer, I would be a member and play at Pole Valley regularly. Pay your money, get out on the course and enjoy this hidden gem. There are a lot of courses in the area with nicer club houses and bars but you really shoul…

We watched the sunset over a late back 9 and it was perfect. Not crowded, well kept greens, beautiful course.

If you haven't played Hartford Greens, now is the perfect time. Not only do you get a great round of golf but you get to enjoy the beautiful fall colors while you play. The course is in great shape. Fairways are links style, a little on the rough side and a challenge to all. The layout is fun and the greens are some of the largest and most well maintained in the area. By far, my favorite course in the area.

I would just like to Thank everyone from Hartford Greens for a great 2022. I look forward to next year already. The welcoming staff, course improvements and friends I have met have enticed me to join again for 2023. I played there today for the first time this year. I was very pleased with the conditions so early. Tee boxes were great, fairways mowed, greens in great shape. New ball washers throughout, a lot of brush and trees trimmed already. Off to a great start again this year. ( wish I could say the same for my score). Join now, this course is going to become very popular.

We played this course last year in September. As promised. the owners have invested a lot into the course. Obviously, they are working hard to clean up many years of neglect by the previous owner. Great progress has been made. The greens are in real good shape. Fairways and rough are improved too. Going forward I would: - Expand the tee boxes to absorb wear and tear as play volume increases. - Get a brush hog and knock down the brush between the back tees and the fairways/greens. I would show off the pond behind 1, all of 7 (show off the creek), right of 8 torward green, 11 tee to fairway, 16…

Not only am I former patron of this course but I was also an employee for a very short time and for good reason. The owner is a pompous, arrogant man from Jersey and hasn’t a clue how to run a golf course. Maybe because he’s successful at running farms, he thinks that translates to golf courses but he’s had a plethora of employees who have tried to give him ideas and pointers on how to run the course and how to bring people in. The course is lethargic on most days, so you’d think he would be open to anything. We suggested he have specials on certain days. Golf on some days, food specials on ot…

Great course. The greens are in terrific shape. Update: 10/17/2020 New owners are doing a terrific job! Upgrading all aspects of the place to make one's golf outing all the more enjoyable.

The nicest golf course I care to go to. It's comfortable and relaxed. Family owned and operated. It's about the love of the game not about the how much money you spend to play the game. This will always and forever be my top choice for golfing. Edit: 10/2020 This review was for Pole Valley which was under different management. Steve Forbes was the original designer of the course and he is what made this course what it was . I have not been to Hartford Greens Country Club, since the new owners have taken it over. So I can not make any comment on the new establishment.

Spacious, lax playing environment. Good rates. Pole Valley is better than some courses that charge higher rates, such as Kingsbury. Great place for beginners. Still fun enough for more advanced golfers. Edit: Pole Valley is now under new ownership. The new name is "Hartford Greens". The ownership upped the rates for 18 with a cart from $28 to $40. This course is less expensive and less busy than Kingsbury National.
