What People Say

In summary

Pueblo de Cochiti Golf Club is praised for its stunning layout, beautiful surroundings, and friendly staff, offering a visually appealing and challenging experience. However, many visitors express concerns about inconsistent maintenance, with issues such as long rough, patchy greens, and poorly kept bunkers being frequently mentioned. While some note improvements in course conditions, others feel the course requires further attention to fully realize its potential.

Overall Condition: The course was found to be in great shape, which was a pleasant surprise for the reviewers who were nervous due to previous reviews. Specifics: The greens were very slow but in good overall condition. The notoriously high rough had been cut to a playable level. Conclusion: The reviewers believe the course is making real progress in becoming a recommended "go-to" course again.

Love the layout. Not the condition. This course looks like it was poorly maintained. The rough is long and challenging and so is the grass on the unmown fairways. The greens are long and shaggy bumpy almost impossible to get a good roll. The bunkers are hard and filled with rocks and weeds. That said this is still an amazing layout and it looks like they have enough water to bring the course back in good condition now we’re gonna wait a month and come back and see if they’ve made some improvements We really want to see this course do well cause it’s amazing.

Played at Cochiti Golf Course yesterday and it was in good condition. Only a few rough spots on one of the par five fairway. The tee boxes and the greens were in great shape, just a little slow but once I got use to the speed they were great. Overall the day of golf was amazing with the weather and the fantastic views!

It's really sad to see the state of disrepair this course is in. I have been golfing here for over 25 years and I've always considered it one of my favorite courses. However today the greens were had lots of dead spots, the tee boxes were pock marked l, the bunkers were like concrete and the weeds are taking over everything. I hope it can make a come back.

Like many I had written off Cochiti due to horrible conditions. Happy to say I played there yesterday on a beautiful day and conditions while not perfect were MUCH improved including brand new carts. Thanks to the crew there for bringing this great layout back to life. Writing this hoping more people support the course so conditions can continue to improve.

Guess we should have read the reviews. However, my husband and I have been coming to this golf course for years; beautiful scenery and a chance to get away. So sad how it has been let go the way that it has. The rough is so long (and I never lose golf balls); I lost two and he lost a dozen. It doesn't even matter if you see where you hit it; you just can't find it; much less hit out of that jungle. And the greens are so patchy and thick; it was just a mess. The fairways are all brown; some were green; they were aerating them so even if you hit your ball in the fairway; it got lost in the aerat…

A fun little course. Great condition overall. Greens rolled nicely, not to awful fast. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Nice grill area as well!

The course is visually beautiful. One of the best in New Mexico. Staff is super friendly as well. Course is definitely a course built to practice your course management capability. Where cochiti loses stars is the price point to maintenance rate. It's priced like one of the nicer courses in the area, but the tee boxes are shot, brown patches throughout fairways and greens could use some work. Overall enjoyable, beautiful time but needs a little tlc.

The course was very dry with many burn spots. Tee boxes not well kept up and bunkers were hard with weeds in them. Too bad to see such a beautiful course fall into poor condition. 6/29/25. Absolutely unplayable. It’s gotten worse. See photos.

The golf course gave a private club feel. The staff were friendly. The greens were obviously not great, but coming back. I will be back. Excellent golf course. Thank you.

This is a very special golf course to me. It’s a majestic setting and layout. The conditions right now are unplayable. I lost three balls just inches off the fairway. It also makes the pace of play terrible. I’ve finished 18 here in 2.5 hours before but that’s impossible now. I really hope they get their mowers fixed.

Cochiti Golf Club is fantastic! We play often during our stay in Santa Fe for the month of February. The course is stunning, very well kept, and the entire staff is just awesome!
