I’m a long time New Bern native, I have played this course numerous times. But since the new management I’m gonna tell you now this is not a $60.00 course. It’s in bad shape year round. I just came off playing it today and shot one of my better rounds this year and I’m still writing this review. The river bend website states it’s $50.00 with a cart for 18 holes. The pro shop charged us $60.00 before tax. He said that it was $50.00 on Groupon only, I then showed him it was listed on the COURSE website for $50.00. He then said that’s only for Monday through Thursday, when it clearly showed Frida…

The condition of the course was very bad. The greens were horrendous see the pictures. The staff was nice but shady. They change $11 for a rider. Maybe because the paths were bad enough to be a roller coaster.

Played here for the first time today. Great course - you will have a lot of fun with the layout. Greens were great and the fairways were tight and rolling. Super nice staff in the pro shop. Had some really good food after the round at the bar.

Fairways and greens were in poor shape, but alot has been done to bring them back to good condition. It takes time and grooming to come back completely. I'll continue to play there and enjoy a cocktail. They are redoing their menu and I've always been a fan of the food.

One would think for the price and location, this course would be a bit better than it was today (29 April 2023). I drove 45 minutes to play this course. While the shop area aren’t that bad, the course it very lacking of maintenance. The course itself is somewhat flat, very walkable due to the lack of hills/elevation change. The tee boxes are uneven and not level for the most part making it difficult to find a flat spot to tee the ball up and stand. Majority of the greens and the areas near the greens are atrocious and need a lot of work. (See pics) the greens weren’t consistent from one to the…

Very nice course. Back 9 greens were in rough shape but I think they were getting worked on. Service was great and the food was pretty good but not worth the price. Overall good experience.

Disappointed and Overpriced Played this course for the first time today, and unfortunately, it’ll likely be the last. The fairways are in rough shape—patchy, uneven, and definitely not worth the premium price. The greens? Like putting on an 80-year-old rug—slow, bumpy, and neglected. The biggest red flag? Watching my day-glow red ball disappear in the middle of the fairway. That should never happen. Save your money and play somewhere that puts effort into course maintenance. This one’s not it.

Back 9 was closed. Some fairways were not mowed. Greens are destroyed. Sand was pebbles. Worst shape of any golf course I have ever witnessed. Played here in mid September 2019

Just needed a quick lunch. It was my first time. Called it in. I wasn’t exactly sure where to go in the building. Pro Shop person was kind to point the way with a sweet smile. Food was ready just a few minutes after I got there. The person that helped me was efficient and made sure I had everything I needed. The hotdog was tasty. The French fries were those thick, good ones. The price was reasonable.

Great spot. Fun, not super challenging course. Greens roll fairly slow but very well kept. I've played at many courses around and this is the spot in considering membership. Food is pretty good too.

The food and the menu has changed. Limited menu choices but they are adding and food was good. Had a great lunch with friends. Its a fabulous place to eat and hang out. There was no rush or push to get us out the doors. Truly enjoyed myself.
