In summary

River Oaks Golf Club is highly praised for its immaculate course conditions, challenging layout, and picturesque setting that offers a blend of piedmont and mountain vibes. The staff is frequently noted for their friendliness and helpfulness, and the club's amenities, such as deluxe carts with GPS, enhance the golfing experience. While the course is generally well-received, some visitors have mentioned slow pace of play and the need for better directional signage on the course.

This course is immaculate! Tee boxes are good, Fairways are great, (very hilly and some blind challenging shots, but in great shape), and greens are perfect! (Roll true, fast, and smooth) not a bad spot on them. Greens are undulating and definitely not easy.. Approach shots barely leave a mark on the green but they hold well. Even the fringe is nice. I mentioned challenging, and it is but isn't that why we play this game? Carts are deluxe with soft bucket seats and gps screen you can use for a flyover view of the hole, green view, and even shot distance and score. Staff was very friendly, star…

In great shape. Very challenging length, deep rough, and pretty fast undulating greens. Carts are very nice with GPS. If you struggle off the tee bring plenty of balls. Off the fairway you won't find yours!

If you're ever in the Catawba, NC, area and you golf. You have to play River Oaks! Absolutely beautiful course! We'll manicured greens fairways and tee boxes. Picturesque views and a mountain vibe! Only 4 stars because there is no cart girl, and in July, it's HOT! Bring your water bottle for sure, but at the turn, they have you covered with a nice clubhouse bar. The price was right, too, at about $50

This course was absolutely phenomenal. The view on each hole was very easy on the eyes, not many houses on it to give it a “out in the middle of nowhere” feel which I was a fan of. The condition of the tee boxes, fairways, and greens were nothing to complain about. Guys at the start and in the pro shop were helpful and kind as can be. 10/10 recommend and I WILL be back to play it again.

After they updated the course it is awesome and fun. Also challenging! The food is great too. I had the grilled chicken salad sandwich and it did taste like home made! With my fiancé and friends at work, we enjoyed it!

Golf course is in great shape and the staff was friendly. First time playing and I really enjoyed it. I should have asked for a hole/course guide at the pro shop though as it does take some course knowledge to play well (smartly). It cost me on a few holes but overall a great experience. I love the layout, bit of a piedmont and mountain golf experience combined. Great job to the staff on the upkeep. My only ask is PLEASE put some directional markers in pointing to the hole tee-boxes as many pathways intersect on this course.

River Oaks has been my favorite local course to play for a few years now. They are always making improvements to the course and keeping it in great shape.

Great course and love that it feels like you are in the mountains but you aren’t. The course is very well maintained. It is worth the drive.

Gem of a course. Played it once after it first opened and last week was my first time back since. Course is amazing. Greens are fantastic. Cart GPS has a flyover feature for the hole which is amazing. Hole 9 could use a bell to alert golfers you are gone as I accidentally hit into the group ahead and was also hit into, but was no real worries as it is roll that gets you to the bottom of the fairway. Everyone that worked that day was courteous and amazing. This will definitely become a course that I will visit as often as possible. May lose a ball or two, but can at any course. If you are think…
