River Ridge is one of my favorite courses in the greater Houston area. There are 3 very good nine hole courses that are meticulously maintained. The greens are in excellent shape and are generally very quick! The newly redesigned halfway house has excellent food & the service rates very high! I would easily give this course a 5 Star rating! I never tire of playing River Ridge!

Greens are always in amazing shape and quick too, play this course any time of the year and get consistency across the putting surface. Not a particularly long golf course but plenty of holes that requiring accuracy off the tee. If you want a great place to play on a Saturday this is a great place to go, far out from the city, and the suburbs. There are no houses lining the course. The only down side to the golf course is that the rough is kept thin, not much to complain about otherwise. I would highly recommend this golf course for the avid golfer who is looking for a new test.

Not worth $80! I have played this course before the flood and it was beautiful so I was definitely looking forward to playing it again but I was highly disappointed. Fairways and greens (a little slow) were in decent shape . Tee boxes were not cut, rough was not maintained with weeds everywhere. Driving range was full weeds as well. Played Ridge/River. River was in a little better shape than Ridge was.

One of the best local courses to Play, offering 3-9 Hole courses. Wide open spaces, lots of Pecan trees requiring accurate or low shots, pond & river water hazards, some gullies too. Alligators & Snakes (may) come into play! Love the smoked brisket, ribs, sausage, etc. when the pics is going. Been caught eating after front 9, only to keep eating, Not playing a back 9!

GREAT course!!!! I love going out there, its scenic, every member of the staff I have ever delt with there very friendly and welcoming. fairways and greens are kept well, great challenges on some of the holes and a little relief on others. One of the few courses I really dont mind what I pay for the round and I always feel like I got more than my moneys worth. Whenever I speak with people about different courses I ALWAYS recommend River Ridge. After only going there a couple of times every member of the staff I interacted with remembered me and they always make me feel like a part of their fam…

Great shape year in and year out. This course is in better shape then most country clubs in Houston. Other than Redstone, Augusta Pines, and Cypresswood this course is the best kept public course in all of Houston

Sadly River Ridge closed permanently on Nov 20, 2017 according to their voice mail. They were flooded out by the Tax Day floods and Harvey did them in. I played here several times and always enjoyed it.

Golfers on the west side of Houston and in Colorado and Fort Bend Counties are beholden to this course owner (won't mention his name) who continually puts money into the upkeep of these great courses despite floods that seem to periodically take place.
