In summary

River View Golf Course is appreciated for its challenging and interesting layout, particularly with holes that incorporate the Santa Ana River, and is considered a good value for the price. Many golfers enjoy the friendly community atmosphere and well-maintained greens. However, there are frequent criticisms regarding management's handling of customer service issues, including disputes over parking lot damage, course conditions during rain, and interactions with staff, which some find unprofessional. Additionally, some players have experienced issues with course maintenance and layout, such as narrow fairways and proximity of holes leading to safety concerns.

River View Golf Course is surely not the best course I've ever played in, but definitely one of the most interesting designed and challenging courses. Basically the entire course was built on top of bank of the Santa Ana River, your game starts to get the fun from Hole 4&5. Hole 4 392 yards Par 4, need to lay up at around 200 yards first, and your 2nd shot is to approach the green which is around 3-story height, and followed by Hole 5, a 546 yards Par 5, and your 3rd shot is to approach the green which is around 3-story height. While the fairways of both Hole 4&5 are along the riverside, Hol…

My car and even my friends’ was damaged by a golf ball while legally parked in our company parking lot close to this course. Management immediately deflected responsibility, offering no investigation, accountability, or goodwill, only excuses that the course “existed before the building”. I’ve confirmed this is a known, ongoing pattern of property damage affecting nearby professionals. To be clear: being "here first" does not grant a business the license to allow projectiles to trespass onto adjacent private property. I have extended an opportunity for a private resolution, but I am fully pre…

Narrow fairways and quite challenging course layout. Greens are fast. This course surely is not for beginners. Play pace isn’t bad even during the weekend morning, and the price is quite good(for both green fees and foods) One of the biggest issues is some holes are too close to the other hole and balls are coming very dangerously from the other holes.

This golf course is the best you’re going to find for the price, offering a welcoming community atmosphere and owners who truly get to know you, like you, and work hard to provide a great experience. The greens are consistently some of the best in Southern California—I’ve heard that from many people over the years, and my personal experience confirms it. I’ve played here dozens of times and have enjoyed every round. It’s a relaxed environment where you don’t feel like you have to be the best golfer to have a great time. The driving range is affordable and well-maintained, with multiple coache…

Great value course. Very interesting layout. Second visit was in January after some rain the river is finally filled with water. Makes it mor interesting to play. Tee shot over the water. And 160 yard approach to green over the water.. Only downside is that some of the fairway is washed up with sand and feels like giant bunker.. some holes just became half narrow of fairway it used to be. Still somewhat playable. Just be aware some sand is wet. Try not to retrieve your ball on the riverside sand. It can be still very wet and soft. You will sink as soon as you put your foot in there. Speaking f…

Interesting course, alone Santana River, shorter than regular 18 hole course but fun to play. Greens are great condition, surprisingly good playing path on weekend. Definitely a course worth to try in South California.

(Request from owner) The date played was 1/8/23 Should be 4 stars but today we had a 1:15 tee time and the course was a bit backed up with no issues so far we have a good amount of sun left. We pull away from the 14th green and see the marshall recklessly driving over the green and flying past us with no cares in the world pulling all the flags from the green!!! It's like 415 pm with at least 30 minutes of sun left? I have never experienced this before at any course so we had to play 15 16 17 18 with no flag

Perfect example of a golf course that does not give a shit about golfers. Once the sale is made, no refunds or rain checks. The moment I walked in the pro shop, they guy points to a sign that says, "no rain checks." Either I tee of right then or go home and forfeit my greens fee. It's pouring down really heavy and he announces over the loud speaker, "go ahead and tee off" Seriously? Damn. That's cut throat. You can imagine how horrible the conditions must have been. The greens were so water logged, you couldn't even putt! Jeez. Never going back.

By far one of the worst places to play in Orange County if you want to get robbed playtime by the old greens keeper who has a habit of pulling flags 1 - 1:30 hours before sunset play here. Guy will see you playing a hole and pull the flag. Overall would not be surprised if this place gets hit by multiple chargebacks. Bathrooms are broken down also only redeemable factor is the kind lady working the food and beer shop this place should be skipped at all cost don’t waste your money here.

The pro shop guy tonight around just before 5 pm (Nov 6) was so non helpful to just call me a cab as I asked so nicely and it put him off and he let it be known a couple times. He said he called one too after his frustrations he showed but he never did as it never came and I had to turn my cell on from airplane mode. I told him I wanted to leave it off and he did not seem to get it or care. I am cdn to try this course for my first time as found off Golf Now and was just trying to save some money from roaming costs. I had to have it on extra as the airline lost my luggage! So after the total no…

There were range balls flying onto the first hole and just laying there getting in the way. We got kicked off because we were having a rough start. Got insulted by the workers because we weren't playing well and got kicked off because we couldn't play at a professional level. Poorly maintained dead grass on the fairway and pivots all over the place.Overall I recommend never coming here unless your tiger woods and want to play on a bad course with poor management.

Went golfing with my group of friends for my birthday. At the first hole we were already being told stuff. We were confronted by someone working saying that we couldn’t play today because we were too “slow”?? Don’t know how we could be a problem? We just started. We moved on to the second hole just for the same worker to follow us and say we shouldn’t be playing because we “lack experience”.. Then proceeded to insult my friend saying he needed to go back to the driving range and “get better”. Absolutely insane that this worker felt the need to harass us obviously had nothing better to do that…
