Willowick Municipal Golf Club

It's not easy to find your balls here at Willowick Golf Course, as the rough here is not just long but rich, with the sun shines on the dew, you hardly can find any balls even though you're just right on the edge of the fairways. Meanwhile, there's zero water hazards here, and not much design, not even dogleg right or left, an easy course. (And I actually can't name one worth mentioning too much ....... ) Well, if there's one, Hole 16, a short Par 4, dog leg left, and the green is a little hill surrounded by beautiful trees.

Greens were punched last week, it didn't matter. Easy course 4.2/10 not a long course, every par 5 is reachable in 2 shots. Nice putting green and practice area. Clean restaurant and bar on a Friday. Good food, $1.25 sodas sell themselves. Love this place

This was our first time here in a couple of years. The fairways were greener than before and the greens were in great shape. We teed off at 8:50am. The course was packed, so it was not the fastest round. We got around in just over 5 hours. Know there are no rest rooms on the course, so plan your drinks accordingly. My only gripe on the day was regarding the restaurant. I called from the 9th tee and there was no answer (3 times). Decided to walk on this past weekend before the rain, haven't played here in 10 years and it still looks the same. Greens were nice, Tee box was crap on most holes, fairways were good. For an afternoon weekend time pace wasnt too bad , back 9 slowed a bit . Back 9 had some asian couple playing around jumping random holes which was odd. The rough could use some TLC along with the clubhouse and pro shop. holes are pretty tight with Tee boxes and greens side by side be prepared for crossfire. Growing up down the street and from santa ana I really wish they would fix up willowick nicer.

Had a good time here. Reviews almost scared me away. We finished in 3 hours. The greens were nice, as well as the fairway. Yes - it wasn’t the typical “beautiful” course. More like a park. But for the price $35, including the cart, I feel it was a pretty good value. It was honestly not that bad. I have been to a worse course that should not have been a golf course.

We all know the Wick has been a dog track for years but the recent changes in management have made massive strides in course quality. Also, Kelly in the bar on weekdays has everything you need. She deserves a promotion with her hospitality and knowledge of the locals.

This course is on the affordable side of golf course as well as driving range. The grass and sand (more sand than grass) driving range is pretty unique. The pro shop is pretty basic and no restaurant on site. Plenty of parking spaces and the availability is better than other higher quality courses.

if you are looking for a muni then look no further. the greens are actually super nice. the fairways have seen better days but you get what you pay for. jeff in the restaurant knows how to make a damn good glizzy too. the pace of play on saturdays aren’t going to be quick but this place makes for some great people watching. all in all i had a great time!

Only reason for the low stars is the front 9 conditions. Fairway was dirt with patches of crab grass on a few holes. Fairways were overgrown. Greens weren’t too bad at all actually. Back 9 was in much better shape. The guys in the pro shop are awesome too which is the main reason I’m leaving this review. Came from out of town and the guys were awesome.

I like that you can get on the greens, with a two some. The same day. For the average guy this course is fun. The carts can use better suspension and shocks 😆
