What People Say
In summary
Riverview Golf Club receives mixed feedback from visitors. While some appreciate the challenging layout, well-maintained greens, and friendly staff, others express concerns about the course's overall condition, including tight fairways and inadequate maintenance of amenities. Additionally, issues such as slow pace of play and management decisions, like allowing large groups and restricting children, have been noted as areas needing improvement.

Course does not look good. Couple of the ball washers were empty. Fairways are in poor shape. Driving range could use some maintenance. Nothing to clean your clubs like a wash bin, not even a bucket of water.

I should have listened to the other reviews. The fairways are cut so short, and the ground beneath is so hard, it’s like hitting off astroturf on top of cement. The greens are fast with lots of undulations, making them very difficult. All in all, not an enjoyable course to play.

There were two of us, got paired up with another twosome, and they were very nice, friendly and good golfers. Golfers. However, experience shown a lot of people that live in the community of Sun City appear to be just old crusty crunchy grumpy people. Don't get in the way or come near any of them that are just in a hurry running around with their own personal golf carts. Keep your head on a swivel because some of these people act like they are God and own the place. I've been to better throughout the whole area surrounding Glendale for golfing, and this is my least desired course to return to.

The guy in the pro shop had ZERO personality, a homeless guy took my ball on 11, and another homeless person bothered me on 13 and tried to setup some kind of scenario as there was another homeless person hiding in the bushes. Was in town for a business trip and just wanted to play a quick round of golf. I had to skip 3 holes because a HS team wouldn't let me play thru and informed me to just skip holes, even though I paid for 18, I got to play 15. Took me almost 3.5 hours to play because they "weren't that busy" even though it was slammed... there was a line to tee off the first hole and was…

Update feb 2026 TIGHT LIES, on the fairways and the rough is particularly tight , in fact mostly dirt. Few of the sand traps in kinda rough shape. As a guest of a member 55.00 bucks plus cart. Still a flat walk, no hills have been added, there is some water and we're still lookin for the river view...... hahahahaha There is some slow play by members and when there is, and you are waiting to play your next shot, the members behind you will pace and stand around with there arms crossed, being annoyed cause your waiting for the slow member in front of you. Maybe...... the members should have a me…

I just put fencing into the edge of my property line in order to keep golfers out. This morning a golfer reached over the fence with a ball retriever while my dogs were barking at them I told them snowball retriever on private property read the sign. Very rude golfer. Do folks in the clubhouse need to tell people to stay off people's private property I feel like I'm being bombarded by rude golfers.

Wasn't here to golf, just passing through and decided to stop in for a light lunch. You order at the counter and according to the menu, breakfast is offered in the morning, and all the prices looked fair. Patty melt was very tasty although made with American rather than Swiss. Served in old timey checkered cardboard rather than styrofoam so that was good, but pickles served in plastic and should be switched to little paper ones instead. It's pleasant to dine outside and watch the golfers getting in some driving range and putting practice--it's like free entertainment!

It's a hard course. I enjoy the 9 hole club I belong to at Riverview. It's a nice course to golf on.

Used to love this course. Played yesterday and walked the course because they never have carts. Show up to the first tee and there is a 5some teeing off, which is annoying and slows down play. Next thing we know a single walks up and tells my 4some he got paired with us, so now we also have a 5some. The greed of these courses is getting out of control, never played a course where the clubhouse intentionally sent out 5somes. Naturally the round took 5 hours. A real shame because the course was in great shape. Won’t be back.

Avoid this course. Took an hour for the first 3 holes (would have been a 6 hour round) on a Tuesday. 4 groups waiting for a single hole. Lack of concern on the courses behalf. Brought it up to Rich at the pro shop and we were responded to with a blank stare. Worst managed course that we have played in AZ.

I called to make reservation for 2 w/ cart, explaining we were 2 hours away so book accordingly. Phone clerk seemed in a hurry. When we arrived, no carts available. My spouse can not walk all the way due to health conditions. But it's good short distances to walk. We would have to wait 45 mins. Clerk suggested South golf course about 10 mins away. It was more expensive which is not what the clerk said when I asked. Amanda there we would wait too. Once again, not what Riverview clerk told us Very disappointed. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
