This place is special! The fact that you can play a Donald Ross designed course that’s well maintained at these prices is nothing short of amazing! I reside in Detroit, I love it here. The City of Detroit has a whole host of problems but this place isn’t one of them. The place is actually taken care of like somebody gives a damn! The clubhouse is nothing special. It’s clean but it’s old. The Hot Dogs are great. The scenery is surprisingly impressive, you will have no idea you’re in the City of Detroit through about 90% of your round. The people are friendly and I think you’ll be surprised at…

⛳ Rouge Park Golf Course, Detroit, MI: 👍👍👍👍👍 Experience the charm of Rouge Park Golf Course, one of Detroit’s historic golf gems. This course is part of a trio of public golf courses managed under the same ownership, which includes Chandler Park and Rackham, and playing all three courses in one season is a delightful journey through Detroit’s golfing history. COURSE HISTORY & LEGACY: Rouge Park Golf Course, established in 1923, is the oldest operating municipal course in Detroit and has been a fixture in the community for nearly a century. It was designed to provide affordable and accessible…

Such a shame because this is one of my favorite courses, but the pace of play is unimaginable. Just finished playing a 6 hour round here. Pulled up to the first tee with it backed up by 4 groups. Otherwise is in great shape but if you’re looking to play (as expected) a round under 5 hours on a weekend- look elsewhere!

This experience killed it. A lot of the staff is great however. Whoever worked on 11/4/25, worst customer service. My Tee time- 1228. Tee’d off - 105! Why!! No ranger on hole one and it’s backed up 4 groups! ok whatever slow pace.. 520 pm. About to Tee off on hole 18. Little kid comes to me and tells me we have to leave. REFUSED TO LET ME FINISH THE LAST HOLE. Manager says “All I can say is I’ll talk to him and I’m sorry nothing else I can do for you”. Really?! I go there 2 times a week and that’s it!? Never again.

Only negative was the wait for me to tee off, I booked a tee time for 9:08am and got paired with another group who's tee time was 9:15, unfortunately we didn't tee off until 9:40 or so. Once we got going the pace of play was pretty decent, and I loved the course layout overall. I'm new to golf and this course was pretty forgiving on most holes, but offered some really great challenges. I will absolutely be back to play again before the season is over.

For the price your paying, this course is in great shape, friendly staff, tee boxes could use a little more work, different elevations. Will definitely be back!!!

Greens were in excellent shape as usual. Great course to play but just make sure you go on an off time if possible. It gets a bit busy on the weekends.

My friends and I golfed here last night and had a great time. The staff was friendly, the course was well-maintained, and we had a great experience. We golfed in the evening and had the perk of watching the sun go down over the beautiful course. We did the front nine and I found the course challenging but fun with lots of water to shoot over and curvy holes that make you strategize your shots. We’ll definitely be back!

Great layout and love that it's in Detroit. Well maintained and a very fun course to play. What makes it fun is it's not the longest course but still can use driver a bunch.

This is the first course I've ever played on (April 23) and I still love going back.. good staff tasty hot dogs only thing I think they need nets for the slices because if you slice on the first or eighteenth holes ...they will be in traffic and might cause and accident or injury or worse .. but still nice course and it's 40 bucks

Used to hack my way through 18 holes when I was a teenager with my best friend John when we both lived in Detroit. Now those fond memories are warmly rekindled every time I journey back there from Rochester Hills yearly to make new memories. Holes 14 15 and 16 are their answer to amen's corner at the Masters. Good luck. Plus, hole number 2 will definitely challenge almost everyone just to bogey. The staff at rouge over many, many years have been both welcoming and genuinely friendly. The hamburgers cooked on the outside barbecue are a must. Will be back again and again . Ps. The short par thre…
