Had an amazing time at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove! I was honestly shocked by how great the hospitality was and how much fun we had on the course. I visited with my Fairway Golf Society ladies, and honey — we had a blast! The course was beautiful, the staff was so welcoming, and the entire experience was top-tier. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Friendly and efficient staff and amazing golf, as has been my experience with the RTJ Golf Trail thus far. Upon pulling up, the staff politely ask which course you are playing and offer to load your clubs. The check-in staff at the clubhouse are friendly and efficient. The clubhouse itself, was very similar to the one at The Shoals, which is warm and inviting, with a full bar and restaurant. Although I didn’t eat at this one, the one at The Shoals had very good pub food, so I expect the same is true here. The golf carts were only a couple days old, and we’re very high tech. I’ve had a lot of e…

Awesome and challenging experience. Golfed The River course one day and The Highlands the next. Because it was the beginning of March, the grass was still dormant, so I can imagine how more beautiful the course would be in the spring.

Great customer service and friendly staff. Course was in good condition considering they had a big storm the night before. All around another fantastic experience on the RTJ Trail.

Hampton Cove consists of two regulation length 18 hole courses (Highlands & River), along with a 18 hole par 3 course. The River Course & the par 3 course are on the same side of the property as the clubhouse. The Highlands Course is across the road, on the other side of the property, and is accessed thru a tunnel under the road. The Highlands Course does not return to the clubhouse, but hole 9 ends near the tunnel. Played the Highlands Course on 12/30/22. For late December the course was in great condition. The greens had been previously punched, but still rolled true. Although the rough was…

Fantastic golf complex with 3 distinctive courses. Par 3 18th holes course, fun to work on your short game. The Highlands course was only able to play 7 holes due to lightning and storms rolling in. (Note that if you go around the end/beginning of June/July, try to get an earlier tee time. You will get called off the course and may not get your round in). But the holes we did play were amazing, goes thru some houses, there is Barn on hole #4 , left of that should be aming point there is alot more room than you think. There are some elevation changes. Need to visit again to play the back 9. B…

I went there to hit some golf balls on the driving range. I practiced my putting on the putting green. The putting green was well maintained. I also ate lunch there. My steak sandwich was outstanding. The people there are so nice. I always enjoy my time out there.

Hampton Cove, a memorable stop on the RTJ Trail in Alabama, offers 54 scenic holes of exceptional golf. Open to the public, and located a few short miles southeast of Huntsville, the various tee boxes and unique layout allows Hampton Cove to challenge golfers of all skill levels. I have played over 25 courses in Alabama and Tennessee and both The Highlands and The River at Hampton Cove rank in my top 5. The clubhouse, pro shop and practice facilities are above average and the staff is very friendly, professional and responsive. My only complaints are minor -- the practice chipping green is a…

We played the RTJ HC short course today: 5:16. Conditions were good to great! Some wet cart paths and fairways despite not much recent rain is the only thing that needs a fix on this course.

Pulling up it's decent, parking lot could be bigger and it's a little walk from the clubhouse, but they have a nice round a bout club drop off for an option.... Multiple practice putting greens and a nice chipping/pitching/flop shot practice area with a bunker.... Clubhouse is a little out dated overall but it's big, nice restaurant and bar , fully loaded pro shop.... Course layout is solid!!! Played end of winter 2024 and the greens were absolutely perfect!!! Being this time of year.... Plenty of water hazards, plenty of bunkers off the fairways and some get a little deep so they can be penal…

Very pretty grounds. Very nice driving range area. Greens were in pretty good shape except they were beat up pretty badly. They were very soft and nobody was fixing their divots. Water coolers were empty but at least it was only around 90°. Paying as much money as we do to play there, I would expect the water coolers to have water in them.
