I have always loved shooting weddings at The Shoals! Christine ( event coordination) is by far the best part! She truly cares about her clients and making sure that everyone is taken care of. The view and grounds are stunning and make for a dream for any event!

Played the schoolmaster. Course was in amazing condition, pace of play was decent, and super super super friendly staff. Cart girls were constantly coming by every 3-4 holes which was much appreciated on a hot and humid day. Definitely a course to come play.

Beautiful facility. Course layout was awesome. Multiple sets of tees to accommodate all golfers. Well stocked pro shop. Starters were friendly and helpful. Conditions were very good even with change in seasons. Greens were quick and tricky. Enjoyed my day here. Thank you.

RTJ run the best golf operations I’ve experienced. From the moment you arrive you’ll quickly see it’s a first class operation. We had breakfast and thanks to Ariel’s excellent service we all enjoyed our time. I ordered the Three Egg omelette, which was cooked to perfection. My friend ordered the fruit plate FRESHLY prepared and full of flavor. Highly recommend eating on the back patio to enjoy the beautiful views! The course was in EXCELLENT shape and the maintenance crews keep it in FIRST CLASS CONDITION. We’ll be back!

My favorite course in AL. Beautiful course and views. Extraordinary design. Wide fairways lined by deep rough, multiple cut depths, perfect greens, trees, sand, and elevation changes. Come and experience what PGA pros and amateurs feel like playing great courses. DON'T BE A DOUCHBAG AND SAND YOUR FAIRWAY SHOTS AND FIX YOUR DIVOTS ON THE GREEN. This place is a church of golf in AL. Revere it. Respect yourself and treat yourself. Elevate your golf experience.

Great place to play. Tee boxes for everyone. Staff was great. Schoolmaster is traditional with tree lined fairways. Fairways had been over seeded and not mowed so grass was long. I think normally they would be great. Reserve opinion on greens as they were punched and sanded. Fighting Joe is links type course and wind is a problem. Fairways were over seeded but mowed and played great. Greens were fair, smooth and fast. A definite play. Breakfast sandwich is huge. Pace of play is ok as it is a resort.

RTJ Shoals is always a great experience. The courses do not let you down. Beautiful and challenging simply love them. The Schoolmaster Course has a variety of elevation changes and tree troubles. The water and kudzu, along with the bunkers create difficult hazards to playg against. Fighting Joe is very tough! It can play long depending on the wind. And depending on how high the roof is it can be brutal. One bad bounce or roll and bye bye golf ball! I'm Blessed to call this my Home Course!

One of the BEST RTJ courses, we all had a great time (8 guys), and location is the best of all. Excellent view of Lake Wilson

These are two fantastically maintained courses. The Fighting Joe is an extremely long course with water on over half of the holes and plenty of bunkers. The Schoolmaster has less water hazards and in my opinion some of the better looking holes of the two. The staff was friendly and always greeted us with a smile. We did a 3 day, 72 hole golf trip and these two courses are not best suited for 36 in a day. It was a grueling challenge. Also, trash cans are hardly anywhere to be found on these courses.

Excellent golf course!!! Played both Fighting Joe and Schoolmaster on April 7th and courses were beautiful. Fairways had some rough spots but it has been a long winter. Wish we could have waited a month or so for top conditions. Only reason not 5 stars is for the price I don't think you should have to purchase range balls. That's just me. Staff was very accommodating and polite. Unless your are Hercules or a PGA professional or just enjoy Driver, 3 Wood, 3 Wood and not get to the green I won't suggest playing the tips. 716 yard par 5 LONG!!!! Overall would definitely recommend playing in the a…

Course was nice. We were a twosome and had an incredibly slow group of guys in front of us. Took over 5 hours to play our round of golf. Never asked us to play through. No rangers on the course and when I did mention it at the end of our round, I was dismissed. Not sure if we would go back. Another issue, the teal markers on our tee box were not replaced after maintenance finished making it hard to find. Seems the other tee markers were all in place. As a female golfer, we are taught pace of play and ready golf. Too bad everyone doesn't follow that rule. Food was good on the patio and service…

Played Fightin' Joe on August 17, 2019. The course was in near perfect condition and was a fair test of skills. The staff was helpful and genuinely appreciative of our business. A few truly picture-worthy moments
