In summary

Rustic Canyon Golf Course is frequently praised for its excellent course conditions, strategic and enjoyable layout, and beautiful natural setting within a canyon. The course offers great value for the price, with wide fairways and challenging greens that appeal to both high and low handicappers. However, some visitors note issues with slow pace of play and occasional dissatisfaction with staff interactions, as well as the challenging nature of the greens for average golfers.

Great course and great value and it is a must play if you are coming into LA on vacation. The fairways and greens are in absolutely fantastic shape right now. The course layout is a wonderful Gail Hanse design with wide fairways and huge green complexes but don't let that fool you as three puts are simple to achieve. The sandtraps here are the only weak part of the course but to be expected (public course and the price) and if you avoid them entirely you will be very happy you did! Hahaha.

Located just about an hour’s drive from downtown Los Angeles, this course offers great value for the price. The layout is enjoyable, well‑maintained, and provides a solid golfing experience without breaking the bank. Definitely worth considering if you’re looking for a quality round within easy reach of the city.

Absolutely amazing! Great value and the best course I played while visiting LA. So much fun out there. Staff was great to start, with a good range to warm up. The first hole is a great starting hole. I would say try to leave your approach short of the pin and beware the gate. Everything breaks towards the gate... Holes 14-18 were absolutely spectacular. I highly recommend it and will play again when I visit in the future.

Great change of pace as far layout. Lots of options and strategies you can play. Greens are very challenging and you need to pay close attention to pin placement. Turf conditions outstanding for this time of year. We did not see many dry, patchy areas. I like to play mostly bump and run around the greens, so this course fit me well. However, well struck shots did hold the greens well. I read pace of play is an issue, but we completed our round right @ 4 hrs and 20 minutes, teeing off @ 7 am. We are definitely not speed demons on the course, just played ready golf. Overall great experience, wil…

Beautiful golf course with exquisite settings. Very peaceful. It’s a links style course but the greens are very severe to a fault. The course is in good shape but I can’t really say it is a fun course. The green complexes kinda take that aspect away. It is definitely not women friendly, too long. For the average golfer, 15-20 handicap, it is extremely hard to score on. Ample room to hit big drives but once again you will struggle on these severely sloped greens. You will 3 putt often. It does seem to be a very popular course and many golfers walk it. The par 5’s are quite long for a short to n…

Pretty nice course, with a very unique link style layout, almost every hole is flat which is a rarity in the area. Actually a very forgiving course when you take into account the wide and long fairways, and enormous greens. However while the fairways are mostly flat, the greens are NOT. Some of the most difficult greens in the county can be found here. Further, the restaurant is also pretty reasonably priced, and produced an excellent bbq chicken quesadilla, I was really blown away. Overall, great value for a great course! Recommend

I thought the course was beautiful and well kept. The greens are challenging. I just have a little bit of a hard time paying $70+ and not being able to finish 18 before it gets dark and to only get to play 14 holes for that price was a real bummer. There is such a long distance to a few of the holes that the walkers really slow down the pace of play out there as well.

Loved the layout of the course and especially the back nine. Holes 13-18 had some beautiful views and sit perfectly within the canyon. Greens were super fast and very true. Lots of forgiveness off the tee with predominately large and unique green complex’s. Really solid service from golf shop staff who showed me around the facility and provided great local course knowledge about how all putts break towards front gate. Value for green fees were unbelievable, although many other accessory items such as golf cart, range balls and food were quite expensive. Pace of play was quite poor as they have…

Another awesome experience! Great course, awesome set up. So much fun. Just had a few days of rain and you wouldn't have known. Excellent conditions. Staff along the way were awesome as well. Looking forward to my next round.

Ever since they let go of their head pro almost two years ago, it has been a downhill ride. You can be the 3rd or 4th tee time and it’s a 5 hour round. Staff and marshal don’t really care. Pretty sad as they were one of the best courses around

Awesome course, very challenging. When it’s hot, be careful when looking in bushes for your ball, you might run into a snake.

Beautifully tucked in the canyon. Love all the California native plants surrounding the fairway and the tee boxes. The native environment this golf course is located in is rich with wildlife. As a plant person, I was probably doing more plant and wildlife watching then actually playing. Look forward to going back on playing this course again.
