In summary

Sandpiper Golf Club is widely praised for its breathtaking ocean views and challenging course layout, offering a memorable golfing experience reminiscent of renowned courses like Pebble Beach and Torrey Pines. Many appreciate the well-maintained greens and friendly staff, although some visitors have noted issues with course conditions, such as patchy fairways and sand traps, and a lack of amenities like range balls and modern golf cart technology. Despite these concerns, the stunning setting and overall enjoyment of the course make it a popular choice for both locals and visitors.

Gorgeous course. Hole 10 is amazing and the 10/11 sequence is one of the best two holes I've played. Conditions were very good. Views were amazing. It's a challenging and fair course. Lots of longer par 4s, well placed traps. Really fun round. I was at a scramble with lunch and dinner provided and the food was good too. Wonderful experience.

My favorite all-time golf course. One of the most beautiful and Southern California. Wonderful pro shop, nice greens, driving range is well kept.

The views at Sandpiper are incredible — oceanfront holes and scenery that feels world-class. That’s the only reason to play here. Everything else is a letdown. • No range balls. Not because they don’t have a range, but because they don’t bother collecting them often enough. Show up ready to warm up and you’ll likely find none available. • Cart situation is sloppy. Availability isn’t guaranteed, and staff don’t seem to care. • No urgency anywhere. The whole operation moves at its own slow pace with no sense of service. Bottom line: the views deserve five stars, but the actual golf experience…

First time I played there today, and it became one of my favorite course. The views are amazing, course is well maintained, and all the greens are really challenging. I highly recommend this course for ocean side views and challenge on the course

My fiancé and I traveled out to Santa Barbara from Florida to site see and play this course. We were soooo excited about this playing here. I booked a "non resident rate" for (2) players at $260 for like 12:45, it happened to be raining terribly that week, I called the day before our tee time to ASK if we could get it moved to the following day for the same time or after specifically BECAUSE of the rate ( it was supposed to be little to no rain so we could sneak it in. ) Guy on the phone said no problem, and asked if we could do 0830.. which wasn't a problem for us, earlier the better.. Arrive…

Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara is an unforgettable golfing experience, combining challenging play with some of the most breathtaking ocean views you’ll find on any course. Nestled along the coastline, the layout provides a true links-style feel, with several holes offering stunning vistas of the Pacific. The course itself is well-maintained, with lush fairways and smooth greens that make for a great round. The ocean breeze adds an extra layer of challenge, keeping each shot interesting. A few holes, especially those right along the cliffs, are simply breathtaking—you’ll find yourself pa…

I played this course two weeks ago expecting a good experience. The green fee with cart was about $150 , which I am OK with as long as the golf experience is good. I was disappointed to find a front nine had many bare spots in the fairways and around the greens. None of the USB chargers worked on any of the carts, and I have seen much better club houses at many public golf courses. That said, the back nine was in much better condition, and the views were outstanding. Later, I found out that this course will be undergoing a renovation in the very near future. My only real issue is with the pric…

March 12, 2024 Update: What a difference the rain has made! The course is crazy good right now - one of the best tracks to play this year on the Central Coast! It’s like a US Open course with the rough right now, but I’m sure they will get to cutting it down soon. Definitely a special treat right now! As of Oct 2022 Sandpiper is in near worst shape I’ve seen in past 20 years. Dirt lies mixed in both fairways and rough, as well as mud spots everywhere on the course! Greens are good, fast and true, but what a huge disappointment. Hope they get control of things over there as the price they char…

Stunning ocean views, reminiscent of the Pebble Beach and Torrey Pines golf courses. The Cypress trees are artfully trimmed and add to the beauty of the course. The sand traps could use some work however, since it appears they're more dirt than sand. The back nine are very hilly and quite a workout if you're walking. Fortunately we had a cart, but 2 in our group didn't and they were exhausted. It costs $180 a round, but if you're a resident in the tri-county area (Ventura, Santa Barabara and San Luis Obispo counties) then it's only $80. They have a well stocked drink cart that comes around the…

It’s been years since I last came here. Green is still the best in Southern California. The weather was perfect, and everything looked beautiful. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable round of golf after a long time.

One of the most stunning courses in Southern California! The ocean views and close proximity to the water make it an unforgettable experience. If you can, walk the course—it's the best way to truly appreciate its beauty and layout.

This place is breathtaking. What a beautiful track. Course layout is fantastic. Lots of elevation change. Holes along the water. This course has it all. A few areas are dried out but all in all this place is a really fun time.
