What People Say

In summary

Silver Wings Golf Course, located on the Fort Rucker military installation, is generally praised for its friendly and helpful staff, well-maintained course with diverse hole layouts, and convenient amenities such as a pro shop and café. Many appreciate the course's accessibility and relaxed dress code, making it welcoming for both military personnel and the public. However, some visitors have noted inconsistencies in course maintenance, such as patchy greens and uneven tee boxes, as well as occasional issues with course management and communication.

This place is horrendous. The range is always dirt and the course always dry! If you’re military you might as well save your money and go to highlands for the same price. The greens are all cut differently and way to inconsistent. On top of that they are way to inconsistent with theirs rules and dress code. Had my wife get kicked out for wearing a woman’s cutoff golf polo but there are people showing up in gym shorts and no where near their posted dress code.

Divots is the cafe within the club house. It has a great Ruben sandwich and Chicken Sandwich. Sweet Potato Fries are good too. You order from the register and they bring the food to you.

The course is awesome for all levels of golfers. The public can use this course, just have to get a pass to enter the Fort. If you are handicap ask the office to turn off the cart gps so you can get close to the tee box and green. You will have a great outing, enjoy!

Overall great club, affordable, nice workers and great golf carts. The greens can be kind of patchy and hard to putt but other than that it’s a great club/course.

A hidden gem,if only they opened more often and later, and give a little more attention to the food they serve less than good tasting food. But great service. Waitresses are great. Food taste humm, I'd say might be a cook's field and menu a management's business. This place has a great view of one of the best places for several 100 miles. Large windows with panoramic vista of a beautiful golf coarse surrounded by trees and a beautiful blue sky; Add some good company. The ultimate meal.

Great course! Always a friendly staff when I go. Very well kept. It's nice having an actual fairway with a first cut and rough. Greens are fairly easy to read but also challenging because they're all so different and always in top top shape! Some holes could use a somewhat better fringe area around them.

Had the worst experience today as there was terrible communication and awful customer service. My six year old and I were only able to play 5 holes when we were asked to get off the course. I had previously asked to play the less busy white course and only play nine but was put in front of a scramble instead. I played a large amount of golf here but not anymore as they lack hospitality and can’t properly manage their course. My daughter looked forward to playing all week and her game was ruined by the people who work there.

Facility has 3 separate 9-hole courses, driving range, and putting greens. Cart and club rentals available. Dress code is more relaxed than some golf courses. Collared shirt not required but nothing inappropriate or explicit allowed. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Did not need a tee time to play. Pro store has a decent selection of clothing items, golf balls, tees, gloves, and other accessories. The blue course was challenging but not too frustrating. Overall very satisfied.
