In summary

Soldiers Field Golf Course is praised for its well-maintained grounds, friendly staff, and convenient downtown Rochester location, offering a pleasant urban golfing experience. The course is noted for its flat layout with narrow fairways and abundant trees, providing a challenge for players of all levels. While many appreciate the reasonable pricing and amenities like the community water park and playgrounds, some visitors have expressed concerns about slow pace of play and occasional issues with signage and customer service.

Not typically a fan of inner-city golf, but this was a pleasant surprise. Beautiful course. Flat and good grass abounds. Wonderful sand in the traps. Greens are hard but we'll kept. Flowering crabapple trees were awesome. Design is fairly plain in straight and flat, but worth the reasonable pricing.

I'm all about downtown views and this course was great even after playing end of the golf season. Quite challenging off the tee box, but overall a fun course close to DT Rochester!

I drove a class field trip here for a veteran memorial talk. The Soldiers Field has a wonderful new community water park. It also has different playgrounds and open spaces for relaxing and lunch time. Beautiful place with lots of parking areas.

I am up here this week for appointments at Mayo and played this course late yesterday. They were able to work me in last minute, and even adapted when I was delayed with an appointment. This course is super well maintained (especially the greens). May be the best municipal course I’ve ever played. Would definitely recommend.

This course is great for beginners, or anyone looking for an enjoyable walking course in the city. It’s perfect for a round after work or right before dark. It can get a little crowded and the traffic can be loud, but it’s certainly a gem located right in the middle of town. I’d recommend it to anyone in town for work or just starting out.

Nice municipal course right along the Zumbro River. Lots of long straight par 4's, but well taken care of.

Fun little municipal course with very playable fairways. Lots of tree trouble makes this course challenging enough without much change in terrain. But the signage between holes was AWFUL. We got turned around so many times wondering where to go next.

Two of us played only 9 holes Wednesday the 5th late pm. Our t-time was 3:38. We asked if we could go since no one was at # 1. He said no, there were 3 groups ahead and they golf here all the time and wouldn’t appreciate being behind us. So we waited and two more Groups came and no one was on # 1 t box. Neither of the two groups were ready- they had to load up at their vehicles while we waited while the first group was now 3 holes ahead and no one was on 1 while we waited. We came from ND for an appointment at Mayo. So disappointed with the young man in the clubhouse. We’re both senior women b…
