In summary

South Golf Course is generally praised for its well-maintained greens, friendly and accommodating staff, and affordable pricing, making it a popular choice for both locals and visitors. The course layout is described as forgiving with challenging greens, and the amenities, including a pro shop and food services, receive positive feedback. However, some visitors have reported issues with course conditions, particularly concerning fairway maintenance and interactions with course rangers, which have impacted their experience.

The grill is always great, and the to go sandwiches are perfect. The course is fun to play from reds.

We played a Charity golf tournament today; 05/03/25. The greens were in great shape. I played here last year, and the whole course was far to wet. This year, there were just a few over watered areas. The greens are far better than GCU's greens, where I normally play, so a good job shout-out to the ground's crew.

Sun City is Fun City Golf!! What a great local golf course. The staff was excellent, especially Joe who helped accommodate me even though I arrived late due to a delayed flight coming into Sky Harbour. The course is a good local course with the greens and fairways in GREAT conditions. I did not see any brown greens. The course itself is wide open with a lot of give for the errand shots. But the greens are slick and fast. That is what protects the score. I flew in for business meeting Monday, So I played late on Master's Sunday afternoon. I had the course to my self as everybody was watching Sc…

Great golf course in the sun city community... get here early before the heat hits! Course includes 18 holes, a driving range, bucket of balls for a small fee, putting green with multiple holes, different grades, pitching area, rental golf carts are available, pro shop, small food service counter with Cold Beer! Plenty of shaded seating to enjoy your cold beer, I think they even have sandwiches! All in all, one of my favorites here... affordable golfing!

The ranger kept heckling us and being very rude. He kept stopping us then telling us to play quicker. Was saying the group of women behind us had priority over us because they are women. Will never come back!😡

Great staff and really like this course as well as the practice areas, including the green and sand trap practice area. Been going to this course more and more….especially to practice driving, putting and chipping. I’m including pics of the practice areas. Driving range/putting greens and the sand and chipping areas. I would definitely recommend this course to play or practice.

Have played the south course quite a few times over the past year. It just seems to get worse. Fairways have very spotty grass; are bone dry in some areas and a mud bog in other spots. You shouldn’t be penalized for hitting your ball in the fairway but you’re more likely to get a better lie in the rough. Greens were in terrible shape. Seems they punched them a few weeks ago. Some have huge dirt/brown areas. Very bumpy. Several of the tee boxes are 80% dead grass. This course used to be fairly nice. Appears to be totally mismanaged. Don’t waste your money.

The ranger kept telling us to hurry up even though we had to wait for the people in front of us. Then he told us we had to skip a hole to go in front of them. He also said we have to pay for rentals because we were sharing my clubs cause that’s against the rules( halfway through the round by the way). Will never golf here again.

Just got off the course. I have to give them credit. They worked to fix the problems and the results of the effort are showing. The fairways are much improved and growing back in most areas. This may be an unpopular opinion on the greens. They are no longer cut down to the dirt. They have some grass on them. To me this means the greens can hold water, it does not just run off to the front apron. It also means that a good approach shot can stick on the green and leave a divot. They are slower to putt but tend to hold a line. Also when the greens are short the water runs to the front apron makin…

Good course, one of the best Sun City courses. Relatively flat green complexes, flat tee boxes, and it was predominately green. Pro shop staff was friendly & food was delicious.
