In summary

South Padre Island Golf Club is appreciated for its beautiful layout, scenic views, and friendly staff, making it an enjoyable experience for many golfers. The course features well-maintained fairways and a variety of challenging holes, with some players highlighting the excellent club rental services. However, there are recurring criticisms regarding the condition of the greens, inconsistent pace of play, and occasional issues with customer service and amenities such as lack of on-course refreshments.

Green are in horrible condition. Needs a lot of time to grow in. Not worth 80$ for a round. It's maybe a 35 dollar a round course. It's bad not one nice green all had issues. But they did knock a few dollars off the round. In 4 months with proper care it may turn around

I had a great time at this course! Let me explain the 4 star rating: 1) driving range 10/10: the grass was watered and in good shape 2) greens 6/10: they actually roll pretty well But there’s several greens under repair and there’s a hole on the back 9 in which they are currently not Using the green which is under repair — they put the flag stick in the fairway and it’s a par 3 playing 100 Yards from blue tees. 3) course condition: 7/10 beautiful palm trees and water on the course. A couple holes border the ocean. The fairways are mostly well watered and the course is very pretty. I’m judgi…

It’s the middle of winter, it’s South Texas, and it cost $50 twilight rate to play a very nice golf course. The layout is interesting and fair. It’s windy as it is on the coast so choose your tee box wisely. Fairways were in decent shape (still tight lies) and greens were super fast. One temp Par 3 on the front as it looked like they had re-sodded the entire green. Wasn't a big deal. Carts were in good shape, had GPS, and were quick to lock you down if you ventured to close to the green. Clubhouse people were friendly and the cart attendant was great. All in all a great experience.

2 club wind all day, it will beat you up. Play it safe on the first 4 holes until you get used to it, and bring extra balls 😁😁. I was extremely impressed with the greens, they looked real slow, but were actually quick with true roll. Staff in the shop were real pleasant, but had to look for staff in the grill twice to get served. Cart gentleman was extremely helpful, overall, good little place to play.

No water jugs on course, no beverage cart - underwhelming hospitality. For a $90 green fee, no water jugs or beverage cart is unacceptable by market standards. We played on Jan 2nd so it was quite busy - they should have staggered tee times better because we ended up playing a 6.5 hour round as a twosome. There was a group on the tee, fairway, and green on every hole. The course itself is very cool, good hole designs, beautiful scenery - but the hospitality was disappointing.

Beautiful course. Easy to navigate with clear signage and cart paths. It doesn’t leave you guessing where to go. The fairways are nice and wide. The greens are excellent. The surrounding lakes, wildlife, and forest make for a breathtaking scenery. Truly enjoyed playing the course. At $60 for the green fee and cart, it’s pricey but worth it.

Very nice course, holes are differents, good quality of fairways and nice views. Thanks a lot to Rick and his team. My driver has been broken in the plane, they find one for me, they save my game! Don’t change and take care. For all players: come and enjoy, it’s a very good choice!

1 star because of the customer service. Arrived 15 minutes before tee time and the guy in the pro shop had the nerve to ask me and my son, “cutting it close aren’t you?” Told him I had a tee time for 12:18. Bought a hat from the pro shop before I spoke to him. Total bill was $218 for me and my son. Got to the starter and the old coot asked me what time my tee time was, replied in 5 minutes at 12:18. Acted like he had an issue with us being late too. Now for the course, not in good shape at all. Spend 200.00 on a round, you shouldn’t have a temp green with yardage that is off by 50 yards in the…

Excellent golf course. Well worth the price. Even better priced if you are playing 36 holes, back 18 only $25. The screen on the cart was great, score card easy to use

Way too over priced for the course. The greens are HORRIBLE , The front desk worker is a horrible he has the worst attitude ever and treated me and my friends like trash. Would not recommend coming here just due to him . Then Marshall kept flying up on us and yelling in our back swing “hurry up” Do not recommend this course.

The layout is a lot of fun, especially the front 9 starting off near the bay and following it along....hole #5 was a blast from the black tee box, even though it is under 370 as a par 4. The wet conditions made the greens slow at the end of the roll, but overall, the greens where fine. Pace of play was great (pre 8am tee time; 3.25 pace). Super friendly staff as well:). The back nine has a bit less character in layout than the front, but the experience is still quality and I would highly recommend players of all skill levels playing here when in town.

Great golf course. Reasonable prices. Wide open and easy to play. We especially enjoyed the holes along the bay. Went to a cool car show at the golf club today (4/16/22)
