In summary

Spanish Oaks Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic setting, well-maintained fairways, and a layout that offers a good mix of challenging and enjoyable holes for various skill levels. The staff is often described as friendly and accommodating, and the course provides good value for its price. However, some visitors have noted issues with pace of play, inconsistent sand traps, and occasional maintenance disruptions, which can detract from the overall experience.

I was visiting from California and was able to get a single player tee time I was added to an awesome threesome. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The course was very nice and there are some challenging holes but was an excellent course to experience. To my fellow threesome players that were with me, thanks for the great experience and I appreciate their hospitality and the hospitality of the staff at the course.

EDITED!!! They took my review down… anyone who finds it, read it and tell me it’s not true! What a joke. I was excited to come down after I heard of the new sprinkler system going in around 2020. I played semi-regularly pre Covid at “Spanish Oaks”. But this couldn’t have been more of a disappointment. First of all the bunkers were the most inconsistent sand traps I’ve played. Makes me feel lucky my home course is Sleepy Ridge (which is nothing to write home about). How hard would it be to have consistent sand throughout the course? Also, what an embarrassing “fairway bunker” on 8, and “green…

Great course. With some caveats. Very windy, especially in the mornings. The free carts before 9 am mon-thurs rule is amazing. Fun holes. Good variety. Amazing short game practice area up by hole 10. No driver allowed on the range though.

The Oaks is right where you want it—easy access off the highway but feels tucked away. Tree-lined fairways give it character, and the elevation changes add some spice without being brutal. Greens are consistent and fun to putt on. Clubhouse is welcoming with cold drinks ready. Staff remembers regulars and chats about local tips. Affordable fees, especially for city-owned spots. Played a quick 9 and wished it was 18—great for families or solo. Solid all-around course that punches above its weight.

Absolutely gorgeous area with a beautiful little canal trail around the golf course. This trail passes by a mossy overhang in the river where people hang out and cool off during the summer and follows alongside the stream up to a little suspension bridge. Can see the windmills further up on the trail too:)

It is beautiful there, however while we were playing their grounds people started aerating the fairways in front of us! Should have asked for a refund! Could have had much more fun playing if they had been courteous and allowed us to play without dog turds all over the fairway!

I loved golfing at the oaks today. It was plenty cold but the course was great. It was clean and very well taken care of. I thought the service was excellent too and very affordable. I’ll be coming here more often.

Had an unfortunate experience here today. On hole 3, the group behind us started yelling at us about pace of play (we teed off late because the group in front of us was slow, so at that point we were 8-10 minutes behind pace.) they chose to yell at us in the middle of a birdie putt, which went about as well as you’d expect and led to some choice words being exchanged on both sides. On the hole 8 tee box, someone came out of the pro shop to let us know (via yelling) that our pace of play was unacceptable and that if we didn’t pick things up we would be asked to leave and not invited back. We…

Love the fairways on this course! Large open and green! The older trees are great! Wish the greens were a little softer. Great place to play tougher greens if you want to test your putting skills. Played here in the early spring again 2022 paid full price. Not worth it. Play the front not the back at least until the construction is done. They should not be charging full prices for the back 9 right now.

The course is beautiful with lots of trees, but the grounds are pretty rough, like its not taken care of very well. Came hungry, waited at the counter for a while and hollar hello, before being told they were doing an event and it would be 30 minutes before they would be serving people. We did 9 holes, and at every hole, I was checking to see if I could order food. Really disappointed with the lack of communication letting people know this normal thing isn't available today due to xxx.

Beautiful venue! I came for a wedding reception and there were many tables set up and still room for the wedding line/drinks/refreshments. There is a men’s and women’s restroom with 2 stalls each and 2 drinking fountains.

Played the back nine and had a great time with the boys! The course is well taken care of and in great shape. Staff was friendly, pace of play was smooth, and overall just an awesome experience. I’ll definitely be back!
