In summary

Sparrow Lakes Golf Club is praised for its well-maintained courses, picturesque setting, and diverse layout, offering a challenging experience for both beginner and experienced golfers. The restaurant, particularly the patio, receives high marks for its quality food and scenic views. While the staff is generally commended for their friendliness and efficiency, some visitors have noted issues with course drainage and occasional dissatisfaction with pro shop interactions or marshals. Additionally, some guests feel the pricing is on the higher side, especially considering the amenities provided.

Had dinner here tonight with my fiancé and I only have good things to say. We had the buffalo chicken flatbread, spinach dip, and a buffalo caesar wrap. Not a golfer but, beautiful new patio that I will be on all summer!!

Brilliant place to eat with a patio overlooking a beautiful scenic course with a pond. The food is great and the staff is even better. Fish Friday or wing Wednesday, you pick. Good rotating local beer on tap as well now. Nice cocktails and sangria. Definitely a not so hidden gem in Welland.

The fairways and greens were well maintained. And the views paired with the sunset made for an good round. Pace of play with golf carts was really good if you’re not stuck waiting for someone in front. Great for experience and beginner golfers looking for a challenge

Golfed the shorter Par 67 Sparrow on the weekend. It had rained a lot the night before. The drainage of the course is not great. Lots of puddles especially in the bunkers. As for the course, I would guess that the signature hole is the par 5 seventh. A beautiful dogleg left with water along most of the left side. I also enjoyed playing the back to back par 3s on the 11th and 12th holes. The most interesting feature of this 18 was that the 12th and 15th had adjoining greens. My son and I putted from one green to the other for fun.

Billy and Connor have elevated an already great experience at Cardinal lakes. Having been playing there for over 15 years now, played both courses many times, lots of time on the practice grounds, taken lessons, etc, I highly recommend Cardinal Lakes. I'm addition, the yearly upgrades and friendly helpful staff keep enhancing the value. Wide selection of membership options to suite different value points, access to 36 holes and a great range/chipping putting area, a great restaurant... I will be a returning member and will continue to invite my friends and family as guests.

We played the course this past Saturday, and while the weather didn’t cooperate, the experience was still top-notch. The course was in excellent condition despite the rain—clearly very well maintained. What really stood out was the staff. With a packed clubhouse and a short rain delay, they didn’t miss a beat. Our food was brought out right away, hot and fresh, which was a nice touch and kept the day enjoyable. Overall, great course, great service, and we’ll definitely be back on a sunnier day!

Played Sparrow course. Greens and fairways are well-maintained, staff were friendly and helpful, and the course is very picturesque. One recommended improvement: better/more signage directing players to the next hole(s).

Although I gave the course 5 stars, it does have one flaw that impacted me personally. The coarse does not have a rating that is needed to include your scores for handicap calculations. As for the course itself, it is in very good playing condition. Considering the end of season is near and how much the course is used, that a solid compliment. My group played the Yellow tees (5734 yds). But thanks to the numerous water hazards and narrowing fairways, the course was still challenging on the shorter holes. The clubhouse restaurant has comfortable outside seating with a good menu of choices. A…

Golfed this morning with our three foursomes. We tour all different courses in Niagara. Course was in nice shape. Our biggest complaint NO WATER at the turn. Between hole 9 and 10 there is nothing, no clubhouse but there should be a water station with 35C temps and even more with the humidity. We had to get the Marshall to call the cart girl who starts at 11! What? This is unsafe guys with all the seniors out walking the course! And $89 with a cart is expensive for this track. Sawmill last week $75 better course.

Cardinal Lakes Golf Club isn't just a golf course. It's 36 holes of pure joy and frustration wrapped into one beautifully manicured package. With two fantastic 18-hole courses, both meticulously maintained, every round feels like you're playing a premium track, right up until hole 7 on the Sparrow course, which I'm convinced was designed by someone heavily invested in golf ball sales. This pond-swallowing, ball-stealing menace deserves its own nickname. A few worthy ideas are: Lake Mulligan Splashville Dogleg of Despair Ball-eater Bend Sarlacc Pit When the golf gods inevitably punish you…

Course was very well maintained. Just angry and rude people working in the pro shop. Just looking to start problems with customers. This middle aged man with a black beard was just having such an attitude with my group, unprovoked and just completely unnecessary. Very fortunate there are a lot of other courses around that are in great shape, and nice people to greet you at the door. Will not be returning. Very disappointed with the staff.

Both courses are great totally different layouts, but the Nest Resturant is really great, good menu and great specials. Wings are best I have had in a while and was very surprised at the size of the wings and assortment of flavors available. Go for a treat, play golf or not and try some food!! Things changed with management, food prices increased and quality decreased, too bad, the corporate owners are concerned about profit and more profit, so they are charging and taking things away from the membership which is the backbone of the course, this need to change.
