What a gem! We played Spooner Golf Club during a Packers game and practically had the course to ourselves—absolute bliss. The layout is fun and forgiving in spots but still keeps you honest with some well-placed hazards. The greens rolled true, and the whole course was in excellent shape for late in the season. It’s got that classic Northwoods feel: quiet, scenic, and just a touch rustic in the best way. Staff was welcoming, and the pace of play couldn’t have been better (thank you, Packers!). Already looking forward to coming back—this one’s worth the stop if you’re anywhere near Spooner.

My spouse and I played this course on Tuesday in the late morning. We were surprised to see how full the parking lot was on our arrival. We learned part way through the round in speaking with other golfers that the Women's League was wrapping up. It slowed the pace of play a little bit, but we still accomplished 9 holes in 2 hours. Carts were clean and smooth; they were in good operating condition. The greens, tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers were all well maintained. When all of these things were combined with sunshine, 80 degrees, and a slight breeze it made for a wonderful time at course w…

Friendly staff. Course was in pretty good shape. The front nine went pretty good, didn't have to wait. The Back nine was really backed up (it would have been very slow play) so we golfed the front again.

This is the best hamburger I’ve had in the past 20 years, and I try hamburgers everywhere. Delicious meat, fresh toppings and wonderful preparation! Remarkable value for the price. We’ll be back again soon.

Spooner Golf Club 6/7/25 Nice practice green that allows chipping, didn’t have time to check out the range, but noticed it was across the street. Was able to play with my Bro- and Mother-in-law, had an easy time booking a time around 745a and we were able to go out a few minutes early too. Nice staff, pro shop guy let me snag a bag of tees on the house, we grabbed drinks from a friendly bartender at the turn, and noticed a drink cart guy was driving around once we were halfway through the back 9. Great signage and good combo of cart paths and open grass to drive on (love that combo as we ha…

Picturesque setting, very nice staff and members. Have a few crowded areas; multiple tees boxes and greens but overall really enjoyed the course. Hard winter played havoc fairways and greens but will get better. Seemed to have aerated the greens late - bumpy ride. 9/30/25 - love to play here once a year. ate at the restaurant which was great. Would highly recommend.

Played this course for the first time on 6-28-25. Course has a really nice layout and was in great shape. Hit the range before our round and that was very nice as well. The Staff was also very friendly and helpful. Only a 40 minute drive from home, so we will definitely be back!

Solid course, priced right, and the bar is great with the Buffalo slot! The 10th hole has the worst placed tree on a golf course that I've ever seen... and I've seen a lot of golf courses 🤦🏼‍♂️

Omg, I ordered the ribs and they were all fat. My husband ordered fish and the batter was so hard he couldn't even eat it, had to throw everything out.🤑

Nice golf course. The course overall is pretty narrow. There is a surprising 3 par 3s on the front 9. The course was maintained well.

Wow. This place is in great shape. I decided to play the Spooner invitational this year and it was a great decision. The course is an absolute gem. Interesting layout with lots of decisions to make. The course is in phenomenal shape. There isn’t a blade of grass out of place. Plus, it’s a relatively easy walk with a great pace of play. Everyone was friendly. Great staff. I really can’t wait to play here again. I’ll certainly be back.

Very nice golf course. Pure fairways, well maintained rough, and true greens. This course is a must play if you’re in the area.
