In summary

St. Germain Municipal Golf Club is frequently praised for its beautiful course layout, well-maintained greens, and friendly staff, offering a picturesque setting in the Northwoods. Many visitors appreciate the challenging yet enjoyable design of the course, which is considered a great value for the experience provided. However, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with certain aspects, such as inconsistent course conditions, limitations with payment systems, and occasional issues with customer service, particularly concerning the handling of weather-related closures and interactions with course staff.

Friendly staff, great conditions and beautiful course layout. Our only complaint was no hard liquor on the bev cart or at the halfway house for cocktails. Hope to be back soon!

A true gem of the north woods. This is a challenging yet gorgeous example of great golf course architecture. There are a few tee shots that are visually striking, where you can’t help but stop and gaze. The course is well taken care of and played great despite the cold October conditions.

This place is pretty fantastic, a definite gem within the areas in operates. Well manicured tee boxes, greens, bunkers and has that extra touch of fantastic landscape details throughout the course. The pro shop here also has some great swag whoever’s buying has an excellent eye. Only suggestions would be a payment system that allows for tipping the snack shack I’d have to imagine in this day and age that’s a lot of money left on the table for the employees….and a workable payment system for the Bev cart other than cash, this one feels like a loss of revenue for both employer and employee.

Played 18 holes on 9-3-24 with 3 of my family members. One of the most beautiful courses I have ever played. Fairways were awesome and the greens were in perfect condition.

Golfed here last Summer and plan to again each time we come up to the Northwoods. This is a beautiful course; each hole is enveloped in lovely pine trees, the grounds are very well maintained, and the greens are just the right speed. The staff are also helpful and friendly. I also gotta say, the price to play is a bargain for what you get.

I like the course and have played it many times. This year, 2023, I was fairly disappointed. Some of the fairways are in poor shape (lots of crab grass and some dead spots); this shouldn't be the case since they are charging a premium price. In addition, they are no longer offering pull carts. This forces you to pay extra for a riding cart. It is a great place to play, but Timber Ridge or Lac Vieux Desert 2 golf course are a much better value.

Absolutely a gorgeous and enjoyable course to play golf... probably my favorite in the North woods. Fun for all levels, but long and challenging enough for skilled players. Several visually stunning holes, particularly on the front nine. Course conditions were great when we played (Memorial Day weekend). DO NOT listen to the one-star reviews on Google and miss the opportunity to play this course. Sorry they had a bad experience, but if you love classic north woods golf, this is your course.

We had 2 foursomes and had just finished the front 9 around 3:30 when lightning hit so of course they had to shut us down (totally acceptable, no complaints) but they told us the storm would pass quickly and to just come back at 5 so we could finish the back 9. So we go wait for an hour and a half and come back at 5 like they told us to. Skies are clear at this time by the way. When we get there and ask for our carts back an older woman says no not happening we’re closing down for the night. We had all paid for 18 holes and 1 bag of rentals and they would not reimburse us at all. They should h…

We played this course 6/13-20. The course was beautiful and well maintained! Staff at the club house and starter were friendly. With this said it is not likely our group will play this course again due to the “Ranger” and his rudeness. We had two groups of 4 every time we got to the tee box we could see the group ahead of us but he claimed we were sitting on the tee box for 10 minutes. He continued to hassle us the rest of the course. For the price we paid to enjoy the day golfing the treatment we received was unwarranted. This made our experience less enjoyable.
