In summary

Stanhope Golf & Country Club is frequently praised for its picturesque setting and friendly staff, with many appreciating the course's open layout and challenging holes. The new clubhouse under construction is anticipated to enhance the experience further. However, some visitors have raised concerns about slow pace of play, course maintenance issues, and instances of unwelcoming behavior towards younger players and groups. Additionally, the temporary facilities and food quality have received mixed feedback.

Very picturesque! The fairways were in great shape as well. The staff were super friendly and it was a very open course. Would recommend checking it out!

Very disappointed with our recent experience at Stanhope Golf Course. My son and his friend, both respectful young adults who love the game, were treated unfairly and made to feel unwelcome simply because of their age. Golf should be a sport that encourages the next generation of players, not one that discriminates against them. Young people are the future of this game, and they deserve the same respect and opportunity to enjoy the course as anyone else. Sadly, that was not the case here. We will not be returning and I cannot recommend Stanhope Golf Course to families or younger players who w…

Fun course, very forgiving on a lot of holes. New clubhouse looks like it will be very nice when it's finished. Helen at the pro shop was very helpful and kind. Will play again on the next trip!

I played there often in the late 80s early 90s and occasionally over the years when home to visit. It literally hasn’t changed in all that time. I played this past August with my son and he said it was the worst of the 5 we played that week and I agreed. Great views and location but that’s it. In such a beautiful location they should have rebuilt the clubhouse asap with a nice restaurant and patio overlooking the water after Fiona. Couple trailers and snack food was just ok. Too bad…. Waste of a beautiful location.

Really fun course. New clubhouse was under construction, so it'll be nice to see when they're all done and moved out of the trailers. Service was excellent. Gotta give a shout out to the Pro Shop.

We absolutely loved golfing here on our visit to the Island. Parred two and for me, that's good. Some very difficult holes. We would happily return.

Ok course. But no Marshalls nor control. Over served alcohol and allowed personal coolers on course. Five hour round, following three wedding party groups that were drunk, loud, inconsiderate, and slow.

Tee times were 6 mins apart, and we seen the cart girl once in the 3 hours it took us to play 9 holes! Do not come here!

Good, enjoyable round. Some holes have an odd layout, but all in all we enjoyed our round. Fairways may be a little rougher than some of the more highly manicured PEI courses, but a round of golf is always better than working. It was a good start to our golf weekend.

The ONLY reason this is getting 2 stars is because of the starter. He is awesome. Otherwise, this is hands down the WORST course I’ve ever played on. From the bumpy cart paths to the Staff doing landscaping DURING the round to the overall horrendous conditions of the greens. I would stay well clear of this course. I now know why it is $70 a person.

If you’re a group coming to have a good time absolutely do not come here. Pace of play was brutal .
