In summary

Stony Plain Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, interesting layout, and friendly staff. The club offers a variety of amenities, including a practice facility and a clubhouse with a decent food and drink menu. However, some visitors have raised concerns about the pace of play and certain staff interactions, particularly with marshals, which have affected their overall experience.

Played as a single last weekend, got paired with 2 golfers who only played 9. At the turn was asked to wait 10 minutes to be paired with a group two behind that was a foursome that was going to split up because their was another person joining the back 9. 35 minutes later I tee off the back 9. Round ended up being 4hrs and 50 minutes. First time this has ever happened to me playing a single. I get you got to improve pace of play but it shouldn't be at my expense. Sent an email to provide feedback, no reply so here we are. It's too bad cause the course is fun to play but I guess if you have eno…

We had a lovely time playing a round of golf and afterwards, enjoying the 19th hole for a meal and a beer. Service on the course and in the clubhouse was great. We played from the white tees, the course has a number of short holes, next time we will use the blues. Near the practice putting surface they have a spot for practicing ones chipping. The driving range is a bit of a walk from the clubhouse but then does it matter. Course was in great shape.

The course is in great shape to start the year. $94 with cart for a round. Nice carts. No gps. No ball or club cleaners on cart. Good track. Some holes tight to each other, so you hear four a few times. Would and will be back.

Nice course. Well maintained. It's is around a neighborhood, and they are still building house around the course, so be aware. Drink menu basic. Was looking for more local beers only a few. The food menu had great choices. My food was very good. Staff is very friendly. I ate upstairs while my son finished the tournament. Hostess, Jill, was extremely nice. It's a municipal course. 2024. Have been here twice now for tournaments thatmy son is playing in. Few adjustment. At the putting green there are 2 benches for people to sit and a little further a picnic table. NO UMBRELLA. As a parent, it w…

Loved this course. Greens were so nice, not so fast and not so slow. It was a smooth and great way to spend the evening. I also want to compliment the staff and how smooth the service turned out. Thank you.

The only golf course I’ve been to in Edmonton/spruce grove surrounding area that doesn’t allow a ride along and I mean pretty much every golf coarse only because I haven’t played all of them but I’ve played most of them. The quarry, the northern bear, the jagare. All much nicer courses all allow it for $20. Stony plain I think it’s time to get with the program.

This used be be a great place to play! Course is not as well kept, and proshop staff are extremely rude and condescending! Way better value for your money elsewhere

This Norman H. Woods design is on of his best. Built back in the early 1980's it was once a wide open layout that over the years has matured in to a treelined work of art. The front nine is unique in these parts as it was designed in a T-shape. The first whole is a straight away 5-par that runs south to north. The second hole is a dogleg left that turns back south then bends east up a hill. The next three holes run straight east. You then turn around and play the next 3 holes westward. The ninth is a short 4-par that runs north to south parallel to the first hole. It is is similar to a links m…

The course is beautiful and the staff in pro shop was awesome, as well as the booze cart girl, and the snack bar girl. However One marshal was an absolute nightmare. We were a 3 some and the first marshal added a single to our group which was perfectly fine with his own cart. Our t time was originally 3:50 but course was dead so we actually teed off at 4:00. Then we waited 10 minutes for the single to join us. When we got to the clubhouse to do hole 10 the aggressive Marshall stopped us and told us we had taken too long on the course because we are allow 2 hours and 10 minutes per 9 holes. An…

Definitely a little pricey for a community golf course. Course conditions were great, save the greens, which rolled like concrete. To boot, the pin positions were unnecessarily difficult, making green play less enjoyable for this average golfer. Potential to be a 5 star track if these aspects can be improved!

Interesting holes give a real variety to the players. The greens were in great shape. The staff were terrific.
