In summary

Sunset Valley Golf Course is praised for its well-maintained grounds, challenging layout, and scenic views, making it a favorite among many golfers. The staff generally receives positive feedback for their friendliness, though there are notable complaints about certain staff members being rude or unhelpful, particularly a starter who some found disrespectful. Some visitors also mention issues with course amenities, such as outdated facilities and a lack of water stations, while others find the cart fees to be on the higher side.

Course was in good shape. Greens are fast. However. Service was substandard. Cart girl was nowhere to be found. There are no water stations in the course. The water fountain in the clubhouse is broken. The grill couldn't make a cheeseburger without a long wait so no point in staying after. Ranger was harassing us unnecessarily for pace of play (the people behind us were old folks walking so we only held them up on the par 3s).

Overall, it was good. The viewd S were nice, and the course was moderate in difficulty, not too wide or narrow. I like this place . One thing, the cart was a bit pricy .

I arrived 20 minutes early for my tee time. After waiting 10 minutes for the staff member in the pro shop to come downstairs, he then spent another 10 minutes talking with me about which golf balls would be best for my game. I appreciated the advice and was polite throughout the conversation, but by the time I stepped outside to present my cart ticket, my tee time had just passed by about a minute. As I walked up to the starter, she immediately began yelling at me in front of other players. She claimed I had ruined the round for my group, even though they were still walking up to the first te…

Everyone works really hard in there, it is one of the few places you can play year round! Tina and Cassie at the front desk are super nice! It is my favorite course in Morris county just because the people!

Beautiful course. Since we played in early Jan, many tees and greens were closed with having to tee off mats and finish in an extra large hole cut in the fairway itself (no greens), which took away a lot from the round. Pro shop was friendly. Was free when we started (9am), but crowded towards noon.

Our favorite public courses in the area. Has a good amount of hills. Great views, especially during the fall months. Course is always in great shape.

This course was absolutely horrible. I got there and I am 19 and they would not give me a cart because I didn’t have an ID. That was OK, however, the worker Mary Ellen was a total mean disgusting person. We were in a group of three and the people behind us were kind of close to us. The lady came on her golf cart and started screaming in my face completely disrespecting me and then proceed to kick off the course for no apparent reason. I would never come to this golf course ever again and this service was absolutely god-awful.

Lucky enough to live nearby, this is easily one of the best courses around. Challenging greens and hills, well maintained. Sunrise and sunset look incredible off the 10th tee, at the base of the hills!

Very nice looking course. It had great amenities and tremendous views in my opinion for the money. It was pretty good. I would definitely come back and bring a few more friends for the next time. The size of the greens and the way they were sloping and breaking very rarely. Did you ever see a straight putt!. I will say that not every hole absolutely needs to be hit with a driver, but if you’re hitting it well stick with it because you can place it in good position.. But if your spraying shots left and right, definitely a hybrid or a long iron is the way to go off the tea on some holes.

It's a very beautiful course that was in great shape, especially this early in a season. Only reason I'm not coming back is the greens. I like a challenge as much as the next golfer, but I feel like they were made to be as tough as possible just for the sake of it. You better get the ball below the hole, otherwise it's an automatic 3 putt for most of the greens. Kinda takes the fun out of the round.

Course is hands down beautiful. Difficult greens and difficult course to walk. Slightly pricy but worth it for overall experience. Their Liquor vendor is going through a switch so no alcohol on property currently. They do overcharge on the price of carts, but this enforces good play and walking so nothing wrong with that. Tree came crashing down on #7. Don’t stay in bushes to long looking for you ball. Beware of snakes. Wildlife is known here. Seems to be a balance of older and younger associates. Surprised more people were not working on a Saturday. Pace of play is good. Wide open fairways. I…
