In summary

Tapawingo National Golf Club is often praised for its beautiful and challenging course layout, scenic views, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the well-maintained greens and the picturesque setting, contributing to an enjoyable golfing experience. However, some guests have expressed concerns about inconsistent course conditions, particularly regarding the greens, and the lack of amenities such as beverage carts and water coolers. Additionally, a few have noted that the course may be overpriced given these issues.

I wish the wind wasn’t blowing 40mph when I played here. Other than that I really liked this course and the layout of the holes. Some nice flat holes and then some extreme elevation change holes. Only suggestion I would make is hire some bev cart employees for the weekdays. The course was busy for a Monday and not a single bev cart.

Beautiful course . Maintained very well and in pretty good shape given the weather we have had in the st louis region this summer . The greens were in great shape albeit almost an artificial color of green like they painted them or something. Very challenging course . I cant tell you how many golf balls I lost . My own fault with errant shots but make sure you have plenty of golf balls . We played the Woodlands and the prairies courses. The prairies was probably my favorite of the two . It was a little more forgiving because it was more open . Will definitely be back here again

Do you love going to the restroom and feel like money? If you answered “yes,” this is the place for you. The restrooms are so nice that if you pee on the seat, you want to clean it up because you will feel a sense of guilt, and dread if you don’t. The smell of the restroom is a delightful vanilla (which is a nice surprise for a men’s restroom). The wallpaper is beautiful and feels almost like wood. If I were to give one critique it would be cleaning the paper towel dispensers. Though they are esthetically pleasing, each one needs a good dusting. Also, the large garbage can seems out of place…

I always love visiting Tapwingo. The astaff is second to none in my opinion. The course is beautiful and challenging. Perhaps not the lowest price for golf but well worth the money.

Fun course! Had some ups downs water woods! Greens descent. A little slow. Overall course was in descent shape.

Was very much looking forward to playing this course because of all the good reviews. However, when I got to the course, perfectly on time, the marshal hassled our group for “being late”. Then when we got out there, nearly every single green was scuffed up with various plots of dirt all over. How do you put through that? Not to mention there was no cart service on the course and absolutely no water coolers or ball/club washers. And the maintenance service was watering a green in the middle of our play. If you want to act stuck up like it’s a luxury golf club, maintain your course. Definitely n…

We played there last Thursday. It is a good design, but currently not in good condition. No grass in areas of some greens and one temporary green. The course gives the impression it is not being adequately maintained

Beautiful course. It is flooded in my pictures. Normally it's not an entire course of water traps. This is during the flood of May and June 2019.

This place is disappointing. Played here while in town a few years ago and walked away with a positive impression. Came back while on a work trip and unfortunately was met with some of the worst golf course conditions I’ve ever played on. Greens were absolutely horrendous. They had slight discounts on rates to reflect, but it’s still not worth playing. Pretty sad, it’s a great Gary Player design on a great property , but the maintenance and management here should be ashamed.

First time playing this course - Woodlands and Prairie. Loved the experience but was surprised the conditions of the greens for such a high green fee. Another thing was they had a separate event going on inside the clubhouse and was using more people for that then the golfers trying to make the turn. If you're going to require an 8-minute turnaround, you should have more people working behind the counter to ensure both parties are covered evenly.

Our son and his wife had their wedding and reception at this venue a couple weeks ago, and it was top notch! The venue itself is beautiful and the food was amazing! We had so many of our guests say it was the best wedding food they had ever had! And the manager Chris was beyond amazing to work with! He was very responsive to emails, texts, questions etc. We could not have asked for a better person to work with. Just had a great experience and highly recommend!
