In summary

Tawas Creek Golf Club receives mixed reviews, with many praising the efforts of the new owners in improving the course conditions, highlighting the friendly staff, and appreciating the scenic and challenging layout. However, some visitors express dissatisfaction with the maintenance of the fairways and greens, noting issues such as uneven cutting and overgrown areas. While the course offers an affordable and relaxed golfing experience, some players feel that the pricing does not reflect the current state of the course.

Hadn’t played Tawas Creek in years but knew what to expect. Only two other groups on the course at 10:30am so the pace of play was a treat. Carts 90 degree rule on fairways. Most holes on the front only have a cart path near tee boxes and greens and nothing in between. Fairways were a mix of grass, clover and weeds. Course was nice and green due to recent rains which left greens like a sponge. Lots of 3 putts for us average golfers. Fees were $30 for nine with cart, a little overpriced but we’ll pay the perceived extra for the pace of play.

We where on the course 6.20.24. Played all 18 holes. It had been high 80's to 90 degrees for ten days straight with little to no rain. By some miracle the course was still green on all of the fairways and greens. The course was cut low everywhere it needed to be. Greens were perfect with no patchiness. The course has consistently improved over the past few years and is currently in great condition.

One of the worst maintained golf courses I've ever play. Fairways were not cut evenly. Couldn't find our golf balls in the middle of the fairway. Greens were the length of a normal fairway length. If I were the owners, I would be embarrassed to charge $35 for 9 w/cart let alone admit I owned the course.

By far the worst course we ever played. Nothing about it was good including the $35 for nine holes! No fairways-all weeds. Greens were as long as shag carpet. Beer was warm. Will never return or recommend

65 bucks for 18 holes(they charge 15 for a cart) and all you get is dead brown grass, tall crab grass and no cart path, a cart without even a tee holder but there is a 90° rule. Idk if they’ve seen their course but that isn’t saving your course. Phone didn’t even ring the 7 times I called even though no one was there playing. Legit stopped playing at their 12 hole due to their fairways looking like someone made this course in their backyard for a quick buck. Easily a 25 dollar course for 18. Straight as an arrow holes with barely anything special or differenr. First and last time I’ll ever go…

I absolutely love this course and I'm so happy there are new owner's! Just in the few months (probably days because of weather) I have noticed a difference. I live very close, and I see them out there working on the course every moment possible. They are making the course more enjoyable and a beautiful sight from our home! There are ALWAYS carts out, which I love seeing . The last owner's were hardly ever open. I work until after 5 and I am so happy they are ready and willing to let me golf after work!! This course is a work in progress and I see GREAT potential with the new owners!! Keep up t…

Nice greens. Plenty of bathrooms and nice employees. Course was fast due to dry conditions. Enjoyed the whole experience. 👍😁⛳

The course is significantly improved since spring. It was well kept and the greens are coming back. Based on the prior condition and frost damage many courses experienced this year, it will probably take a bit to get them back 100%. Definitely a good value now. Cart worked fine too on a side note.

I came up to the area for a wedding. We booked a 8am tee time for Friday morning at 8am. We played the entire course without anyone playing behind us. The course is challenging for all golfers. It had some large greens that were a challenge to read. All in all the course was fun and we had a good time. My only disappointment is there is no cooked food at the turn.

I have played the top courses in the country located in Michigan. I am not an exceptional golfer by any means. I see all these 25 handicap golfers leaving bad reviews. The course has come a very long way since Ed bought it last year. Shut your mouth and enjoy the very nice and very inexpensive golf here. The course is beautiful this year and the greens are amazing!

Its been 2years since we've golfed Tawas Creek and I cant say enough how great the course looks now. If ypu had a bad experience in the past give them a tru again. Course is in great shape even after the drought conditions

In this the second year of the new owners, the improvements are continuing. Scenic property, affordable prices, not crowded, and friendly workers make this a very enjoyable place to go play a round. Still some work to do, especially on the greens, but they work at it every day and soon this place will be a gem. Highly recommended for a casual and challenging round.
