In summary

The Back Bay Golf Course is praised for its friendly and attentive staff, stunning views, and convenient location on the Hyatt hotel property, making it a great spot for practicing short game skills and enjoying a quick round. The course is appreciated for its relaxed atmosphere and accessibility, often described as a hidden gem due to its uncrowded nature. However, some visitors note that the greens can be slow and the course layout is quite basic, primarily catering to beginners or those looking for a casual golfing experience.

It’s a shitty par 3 course. Take your expectations and lower them, then lower them again. But if you’re looking for an hour to kill and wanna just take a wedge/putter it’s really fun. They also serve beer which was a welcome surprise :D

So it’s tough to qualify this as a golf course. It’s more just an open grass lot in the middle of the hotel, but there are golf mats for tee boxes and holes in the “greens”. Realistically this place is worth it if you’re itching to smack your wedge around a bit. I gave it a 1 star bump because of this signature hole here. #8 elevated tee box overlooking the Newport bay is a beautiful view. Other than that. Hard to qualify this as golf but if your like me and NEED to play, it’s a fun quick round.

Fun course. Jerry who works the golf course is always friendly and needs a shoutout. I’m at the course often and their staff keeps me consistently coming back.

Great course for kids or beginners, learning their short game of pitching in putting. All 9 holes are par 3 and between 50-100 yards

This golf course is on the property of Hyatt hotel. Perfect name as it’s literally the Back Bay. All the times here it’s never been over populated which I’m reluctant to share! The best course to practice or blow some steam on a weekend morning with an ocean view. The service guys here is fantastic a first class feel. Thumbs up to Nate. Appreciate you man! I’ve gone to various golf courses in SoCal all great but BB feels like home.

This is a decently fun little par-3 “course”. I showed up with no clubs or gear and paid $16, it was fun, I feel like I got what I paid for. I was given a 60* wedge and putter; when I asked for another wedge option with less loft, the vendor said it would cost me a little more. The “greens” are the same grass as the rest of the lawn, and quite long and slow; there were multiple putts that I thought I had clubbed off the course that didn’t make it to the hole. For $16: it was a fun use of 45 mins, and some fresh air and exercise. There were multiple occasions where I needed a different club tha…

Awesome little 9 hole course right at the hotel!!! Free to play and free clubs included with the amenities at the hotel when you stay there. Holes are short, 60 to 85 yards each making it fun and not too hard or long of a game if you're not that good. Love this place! My 5th time staying here and never gets old!
