In summary

The Cardinal is widely praised for its beautiful and challenging course layout, well-maintained greens, and friendly staff, offering a great value for golfers. The course's design requires precise shot shaping, with notable holes such as the challenging par 3s. While many appreciate the overall experience, some mention issues with signage, soggy conditions after rain, and the condition of bunkers and tee boxes.

It’s a nice track with very good and fast bent greens and the staff is outstanding. I didn’t use the bar or restaurant and am not a member so this is just for the course. It’s a pretty tricky course to navigate. You have to be fairly accurate and be able to shape the ball. The front is a lot of fades but the back nine is really where the course shines in my opinion with some beautiful holes (again not super long) but fairly tight and playable. Greens are fast but very fair and consistent.

Played The Cardinal for the first time in over 20 years today. I have to say I was not disappointed. The course is in wonderful condition and the greens are firm and FAST!!! The course has always been a challenge and it remains so now. The club now allows limited non-member play, so if you have a chance to play you should!

My son enjoyed playing the Cardinal. He hated the false fronts, but like the challenge of each hole. Shot shaping was more important here than many other courses. The course is beautiful!

The course was in great shape. Also an incredible value. The Pete Dye longest par three was hard but fun to play as well.

Loved the course. Fun to play. Odd there's no tee box signs but wasn't a big deal for the most part. Would play it over and over.

This could easily be a 5 star. The day we played they were still drying out from a heavy rain, even one of the par 4's had to be played as a 3. The course has an upscale feel, it is a really good golf course, great layout, nice range (complementary balls) and a friendly staff. As someone playing the course for the first time, I would suggest some better signs (got lost once....people we talked to laughed and said same thing happened to them first time they played there), and also for tee markers ( very small pieces of wood, and difficult to see the color, especially some of the white/blue). Joined here after moving from New England and love it! Members are friendly and the staff is great! Just wrapped up our member member weekend, the greens were sooo good today! Special callout to the Sunday lunch, Although it was meant to be a grab and go, the group in front of us was fast and the group behind had someone doing aim point…we were 3 holes ahead so this gave us a very large window of time to sit down and savor the excellent spread and libations! Hats off to the F&B team, all 3 days the food was A+! Love it at the Cardinal!

Don't let the fact that Pete Dye designed this golf course think that this place is nice, because it's not and is highly overrated. The course is built in a flood control channel and with any measurable rainfall carts are on the path and several holes are converted to Par 3's. There are many better places to play in the Triad, stay away from this place.
