In summary

The Classic Golf Club is appreciated for its beautiful and well-maintained course, featuring a variety of challenging holes and excellent greens that provide a good test for golfers. However, some visitors have experienced issues with slow pace of play, inadequate signage, and inconsistent customer service. Additionally, the lack of a driving range and some maintenance concerns, particularly with bunkers and facilities, have been noted as areas needing improvement.

Played the last tee time of the day and had a great experience. The course was absolutely beautiful — one of the nicest I’ve played, and at $32 for twilight (normally $57), it felt like a steal. Layout & Variety: Great mix of left and right doglegs, elevation changes, and thoughtful hazards — including some right in the middle of fairways to challenge big drives. I liked the grassy bunker-style hazards too. A few short holes under 100 yards added nice variety. Conditions: Fairways and greens were in excellent shape. The greens rolled beautifully, but were covered in unrepaired ball marks — m…

The greens were excellent and rolling beautifully for this time of year. Unfortunately, 5-some galore!!!! The pace of play was rough! I ran into three different 5‑somes during my round, each backing up two to three holes at a time. With no marshal or starter to keep things moving, the delays really took away from what is otherwise a fun course.

The course itself is pretty fun. There are 3 holes I could do without, though. The landing zones for those 3 holes are close to impossible to hit even for a decent ball striker as myself. Course knowledge is a must for this course, especially these 3 holes in speak of. 18 being kind of annoying. I hit a perfect 3 iron straight down the middle, only to find I was completely blocked out by a large tree. But again, this is course knowledge issue. The greens are probably the most unique greens I've ever played on. The shape of the greens is very quirky and difficult, and small but I actually like…

About 15-20 minutes from Lake Spanaway Golf Course, we played here in the afternoon after playing Lake Spanaway that morning. This course was in pretty good shape. Some tee boxes were slightly choppy. The narrow fairways were nice & the elevated greens were dry and fast. Some trees and hazards, but not many. It felt like the course was compacted onto a property that was just big enough for a course, as many holes run back to back with little space between fairways. We got turned around on the cart path once or twice, but hey, it was our first time there. Other golfers here were very friendly a…

The greens were fast and true. The bunkers were hard pack and half gravel, some pieces as big as my golf ball. Carts could use some updating, but the fairways and greens were nice!

I give this 5 stars because I know how hard everyone involved with this course works to make a diamond out of coal. Joe and everybody at The Classic are great people! It's too bad the ownership turns a blind eye to upgrades, but for what it's worth, The Classic is a great test of your game. Perfect greens and tough putts will challenge the flat stick. Well manicured fairways reward those keeping the ball in play off the tee. Uneven lies and bunkering test approach shots. All in all, if you learn to golf well here, you can take that game to any course in the country. Also, if you golf often, th…

The guy in the pro shop this morning was straight-up rude. Not just once — every single time I interacted with him. No greeting, no basic courtesy, just attitude and eye-rolls like I was wasting his time. It honestly ruined the experience. The course is decent, but I won’t be coming back if that’s the kind of treatment customers get.

Doesn't even have a driving range! Their response is always "oh where working on getting a range going soon"... BS you've been saying that for 10yrs. Also the putting greens have ant hills all over the place. Not maintained at all!

I’ve been playing here for 25 years. Unfortunately more land is being sold to developers and the golf course is not being maintained. The rough was a foot tall felt like I was playing at the British Open, which would’ve been awesome, but this is not the British Open this is poor maintenance.
