In summary

The Lakewood Club is praised for its beautiful and well-maintained courses, with challenging layouts and a picturesque setting. The staff generally receives high marks for their friendliness and attentiveness, contributing to an overall enjoyable experience. However, some visitors report issues with slow service in the restaurant, high fees, and occasional slow pace of play, which can detract from the experience for some golfers.

Sixth golf course on the RTJ golf trails - Lakewood . Azalea Course - a nice and friendly golf neighborhood but nothing stands out, as far as characters of the course. Maybe because we played the best of the RTJ courses already. Restaurant staffs are slowww, it took awhile to ask for a straw/stirer, even when I was the only person in line. RTJ rankings, in terms of challenges: 1. Silver Lakes Ross Bridge 3. Grand National- Links course, Capital Hills - Legislators course 5. Lakewood-Azalea course 6. Oxmoor-Valley

Course was in good shape. Even with the drought, it was in good condition. Greens were a little fast for how small they are. They ran out of golf balls for the driving range, so I wish they had more available.

My last stop to complete the RTJ trail. Gorgeous homes along the Dogwood course. The clubhouse is cozy and has a nice setup. Not the best course on the trail but a good one to play. I would like to see winter season rates more reasonable. $135 is a lot to play in unejoyable conditions.

Recently my wife and I played both courses. This review will sound over the top, but we were so impressed with everything about the facility. Our first interaction with the starter(s) were excellent, super friendly and helpful. Similar experience with clubhouse staff. We were told it rained 10" the weekend prior, but you would have never known it. Greens, sand traps, fairways were perfect. It is clear the employees like working there as we felt like we were talking with friends with every single person we met. We can't wait to go back.

Great staff. Beautiful landscape. But I have played a bit nicer for the cost. So far I think Hilton San Destin has been my top for the region. Still very nice.

Had a great time at The Lakewood Club. Very impressed by the staff from the desk to the cart servers. I lost a wood cover on the course and Heather made it a mission to track it down. I thought for sure it was gone but they never gave up and found it for me!
