In summary

The Lido is praised for its masterful restoration and unique layout that evokes the golden age of golf course architecture, offering a challenging and memorable experience. The course conditions, including the greens and the helpfulness of the caddies, receive high marks. However, some visitors find the course overly difficult, note the lack of alcohol sales, and mention limited amenities such as restroom supplies.

The Lido is a masterfully restored 18‑hole course that faithfully revives the legendary 1920s Lido Golf Club, long celebrated as one of the most influential designs in golf history. Now brought back to life with remarkable attention to detail, it offers golfers the rare chance to step into the past while playing a layout that feels timeless yet challenging. Ranked 68th in the world on Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Courses, The Lido delivers a truly unique atmosphere—one where every hole evokes the golden age of course architecture. Walking these fairways, you feel as if you’ve been transported back…

An amazing place to be sure. To re-create a sea side Long Island golf course in the middle of Wisconsin is interesting, but without the ocean, just not the same. Here is the short version - everything is as you would expect in a private course of this caliber. The staff, the condition, the greens all excellent. The undertaking, admirable. I just didn’t like the golf course design and was not so sure it was so great that it needed to be resurrected. It is extremely difficult and your expectation should focus on the experience and not your final score. If your handicap is in the single digits,…

It's a very unique course and has a few fun holes. The caddies do a great job helping you since there's no real features to aim for off the tee boxes. The greens are absolutely massive which lends itself to a few 3 putts. For the money however I just don't think it's worth it. I've played it twice now and I'll absolutely be skipping it next time I come to SV. For some reason they keep this course fairly exclusive to folks staying on property with limited availability, which makes no sense. I think you're getting much more variety and beauty with sedge, MD & SV courses. It has been mentioned be…

This was a blast! Even being a new golfer this course was so much fun! Lots of challenging moments but our caddy Nick was the best!

Really cool layout - caddies are a must. Course is dry. Cant buy or have any alcohol on property. Should've been stated to us before we booked our tee times. We walked this recently in 93 degree heat and the only refreshments on the course were two water wells - one of which tasted like actual dirt. The history is cool but, I'd skip this course next trip.

Such a fun new course! I’m a newer golfer and it was still so much fun to play. The caddy’s are key for a handful of blind shots and did an amazing job reading the greens. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and expect to walk in loose sand as the course is settling. Highly recommend!

No trees. Replica of East Coast track. Lots of bunkers and caddies are critical for probably your first 5 rounds here. Wind and open space does remind me of Shinnecock Hills on Long Island. No booze sold here. Probably to avoid complete round meltdowns. Play this track in the morning vs afternoon so you have everything you can give her.

Amazing golf course Nothing like it anywhere nearby. Shore acres is pretty close but this was special and an amazing design When it matures it will be even more amazing Greens were fast, undulating and complex Tee shots are all challenging and requires some courage Great test of your game

This course is a national treasure. To steal a phrase from Herbert Wind; ‘if an old Scot wearing a red jacket and playing a featherie ball stepped out from behind a dune, I wouldn’t have batted an eyelash’. With reads by caddy John L, I stole 2 birdie putts and 8 par putts. It was delightful afternoon.

I was disappointed. No toilet paper in the only men's restroom. This happened May 28, 2024 at 2:10 pm. Zero stars is a better rating.
