In summary

The Links at Starkville Golf and Country Club appears to have a scenic setting with wide open spaces that some residents appreciate, particularly for its proximity to the golf course. However, there are significant concerns about management practices, including issues with communication, cleanliness, and unexpected fees. Many residents report dissatisfaction with apartment conditions, such as cleanliness and maintenance, and difficulties in resolving these issues with management.

So do with this information as you will… I applied to this place back in September so I could have my own place to live while I helped my mother through her lung transplant process, informed them that I wanted to have something set up but wasn’t sure when I would move in due to my moms illness, so they told me if I went ahead and paid a security deposit it would lock in the rent price but would hold my application on the waitlist. I did that and then months later, my mom dies and it made things a lot more complicated for me. I went back up to the office several times and asked several questio…

My son lives here and I have never seen an apartment complex that has worse management in my LIFE. When they moved in, there were roaches everywhere. Inside the cabinets, the dishwasher, everywhere. There is black mold all over the window sills and the carpet is disgusting. And when they got their first water bill, it was ridiculously high, so I called the office and for some reason, they have no meter on that apartment (????). So currently, they have no meter that can tell how much water they use, and they have a bill of about $1100 for water and are just charging them what they want when eve…

I would definitely not recommend the links for anyone who wants a clean apartment to live in and a easy landlord to get in contact with. I had a 2 bed/ 2 bath apartment that me and my fiancee have been planning on living in and had it approved and applied for in March of 2025. They would not give us the lease until days before we moved in and wanted us to sign the lease and pay for the apartment before we even saw it. I had to call them 6 times for them to finally send the lease for me to sign 4 days before we moved in. We decided to go look at our unit early Sunday when we were scheduled to m…

Lived here almost 2 years and it was a fairly good experience. Could have been kept MUCH cleaner, but for apartments on the outskirts of a small town like Starkville - it was decent. I love nature, so the wide open space of living right in front of the golf course made it better. Don't expect to get any deposit back though.

Overpriced and unclean when I moved in. They tried to force me to move out a week before my lease ended. They tried harassed me over the phone multiple times during the holidays outright lying to me about my contract. They also have tons of hidden fees that you aren’t told until after you put down a deposit.

The management has been extremely unprofessional. I submitted an application with a requested move-in date of August 1st, but they changed it multiple times without notifying me. Their representatives are difficult to communicate with and seem to struggle with basic English. They don't have time to show the apartment online. I send someone to check their housing and he said their kitchen amenities are so old fasioned. When I called to cancel, they told me the deposit would not be refunded—this was over two months ago before the move in start.

Just don't live here. I lived at The Links for about 18 months, and was unhappy for just about every one of them. From the beginning there were problems with stray cats everywhere. I made multiple phone calls/trips to the front and nothing was done about it. I have a dog and every time we would walk by they would hiss and lunge at him. Halfway through my lease they raised my rent without making a single renovation/upgrade. I wouldn't have a problem with this usually but the place wasn't worth what I was paying in the beginning so it DEFINITELY wasn't worth any extra per month. Outdated, dingy,…

Below par maintenance, bee hives, unkept lawns (they mowed once a month last summer) outrageous water and power bills, trash lying around constantly; the back half has turned into a cat shanty town. At last I counted it was around 11-12 feral and aggressive cats. It takes an act of congress to get the simplest things done (like a bath stopper..) They have contracted the water to a new outsourced company. Roughly $89 a month now and nobody can tell me why or how (1 bedroom apartment and no company ever..) In a town where apartments are plentiful do yourself a favor and live somewhere else.

The worst place to live, old run down apartment with a $350 deposit thats non-refundable. Roaches, bird droppings, poor yard keep up. No night lighting throughout the apartments parking, several car break in, management has no authority to make decisions, have to call the corporate office. Runnnn

They will nickel and dime you every second, no utilities are included in the rent, you have to outsource your power bill and WiFi. The maintenance is outrageously under par as well the quality of the apartments. The pictures posted in advertisements are lies, it’s not even remotely as nice as the pictures. Scratches and dents everywhere as soon as I moved in, ceiling fan didn’t work, stove top was broke and I was the one that had to fix it. When maintenance did finally show up to fix something they put a self tapping screw on the outside of my door facing to keep the panel from flapping and le…

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Everything about my stay at The Links has been amazing. Our apartment is very clean, no major bug issues, if there were we would let them know and they would spray almost immediately. The apartments are spacious, quiet and beautiful. I have a two bedroom, two bathroom and I am so happy with it! I've read complaints about maintenance but I have NONE. They have fixed everything that I requested and literally within hours! The staff is so friendly always!! The pool/hot-tub/golf-course are wonderful things to have while living here. I came from out of st…
