In summary

The Phoenician Resort's golf course is praised for its excellent condition, beautiful scenery, and friendly, professional staff. Many appreciate the challenging layout with its undulating fairways and greens, as well as the well-maintained amenities and stunning views, particularly on the back nine. However, some visitors have noted issues with pace of play, course layout memorability, and occasional maintenance problems, while a few have experienced service inconsistencies.

The Phoenician was amazing from start to finish. The course was in fantastic shape, greens rolled true, and the views throughout the round were beautiful. Perfect weather made it even better. Highly recommend if you’re golfing in Scottsdale

We used to play here, back when it had 27 holes, aka 3 nines. One of the nines were up on top of the hill with awesome views. Now Phoenician only has 18 holes, lost 9 holes to vacation homes being build around the course. The course is still beautiful and back 9 has some good views with beautiful landscape surrounding the course. As for the course, it is in excellent condition with minor brown patches due to the summer heat. Most holes are target golf so Make sure you know where to aim. It is challenging due to undulating fairways and greens where our group truly enjoy the round. Will defin…

Probably the best manicured course I’ve played. The background and views were spectacular. Greens were fast/tough, but in immaculate condition. The only thing, for me, holding this back from a 5 star course was the layout. It was fun, but overall not that memorable. Would definitely play it again. I was on a 4 day golf trip. Here are my rankings of what we played. 1. Rancho Manana 2. Lookout Mountain 3. The Phoenician 4. TPC Championship Course

I enjoyed playing the Phoenician. The staff is excellent, welcoming and helpful. The course was in great shape rivaling private country club condition with beautiful views. I found the course challenging yet forgiving enough. The greens had good intrigue that protect what I feel is somewhat shorter play. The only knocks would be… there were a few holes where I felt like I was hitting the same distance tee shot and the same distance approach shot and after the turn things really slowed down with no marshal to help move things along. Plus I was a little sticker-shocked that they charged $12 for…

They have really nice high-speed GPS golf carts with leather seats. They should have got normal golf carts and hire a superintendent who knows how to maintain a golf course. These previous reviews that say" it's in great shape", have these people never played a nice golf course before? I should have known better when I was able to get a Saturday tee time 5 days in advance when all the other places I wanted to go play were book solid. 25% of the course is dying and then 50% of it is so soggy It almost qualifies for casual water. It's so soggy that the mowers sink and there are scalp lines all…

The Pheonecian provided an excellent golf experience start to finish. Solid practice facilities, high quality carts with screens / GPS, putting and chipping areas, and very friendly staff. Once I teed off, I found myself really enjoying the undulating fairways and greens - it was challenging, but the greens had a reasonable speed. So its not too much trouble. There are some holes throughout the track that feel like bombs-away with a little chip up to get up and down for birdie. There were also some really fun shot shaping opportunities - both with driver and approach shots. The back nine zi…

The new layout makes the course a bit more difficult. More of a chanpiship feela as to a resort layout.

The folks in the pro-shop, bag drop and cart person were all helpful and friendly. The facilities themselves for warming up - range and putting green were sufficient to get you ready for your round. The club provided water and facilities on both 9’s with more cold water that was much appreciated. We saw the beverage cart 3 times during the round which is a good frequency. When I teed off it was 106 degrees and when I putted out on 18 it was 110. I say that as it must be very hard to keep a golf course playable at those temps. The course in total was in good just not great condition. Tee boxes…

Great course, amazing staff, beautiful vistas. From the check in process, to the pro shop, to the lady who gave me a ride between 9 & 10, to Erika at the 19th hole who created a special wrap for me (much appreciated), everyone was very friendly and very professional. My only complaint was so many houses on the front 9. Thanks for a great day!

A must play course when in Scottdale and worth arriving early for the breakfast, coffee and lunch and just watch the sunrise

Great course. Friendly staff. Excellent condition. Beautiful scenery with views at foot of the mountain and views of the city in the distance. It’s not a pga tour 7000+ layout. But it’s fun and fair and plenty hard enough for normal mortal golfers. We played in February 2024 and highly recommend.
