What People Say

In summary

Tierra del Sol Golf Club is appreciated for its friendly staff and affordable pricing, with some visitors enjoying the relaxed desert setting and well-maintained greens. However, many reviews highlight significant issues with the course's overall condition, including poorly maintained fairways, overgrown bunkers, and inadequate facilities, which detract from the golfing experience. The club has faced challenges with renovations and management, leading to mixed experiences among golfers.

This course offers a relaxed desert golfing experience. The layout is flat, and while the fairways need a lot of work, the greens are well-kept and roll smoothly. With perfect fairways, this course would easily be a five-star destination. The friendly staff and peaceful setting make it enjoyable for casual golfers seeking a straightforward, affordable round.

I was warned this course was in horrendous condition, so that made me want to play it to see. Well. Horrendous is an understatement. first impression was the clubhouse, if you want to even call it that. it was a shanty at looked like a tornado hit it. The staff was nice which is the only plus here. We get our cart and we head out to the first hole and looking at the fairway, i was like what? it was just a field with overgrown weeds everywhere. Fairways didn't exist anywhere. I lost more balls here and searching for balls than ever before, and these balls were lost mostly on what you would call…

It is one of those places that grows on you. It has a nice view with a good stretch. The only reason why I didn't give it a five-star was because the people that live around there have no consideration, they walk right in the middle of your game like if it's just the regular Park. The level of ignorance that surrounds this area is pretty sad. They don't realize what a jewel they actually have in their City. I still have hope that one day all these people will wake up and take care of this golf park and hopefully take pride in their community.

The guy working there is super cool, it's not the best course given the conditions and the city hasn't really funded it so well. But it's cheap, and worth it to me. Just move your ball to the nearest patch of grass and keep going.

Nice golf park with a lot of beautiful scenery all around. Reasonable prices to play golf. Area changes with the season.

Employees were very nice. The golf course has been closed for months for renovation and still only 9 holes are open. You would figure after being closed for so long that the course would be in great condition. It is far from it . While I wasn’t expecting lush green with the climate it was barren in many patches and the greens had brown spots . Can’t imagine what it looked like before the renovation . Far from worth the money. Disappointed

I need to start by saying the staff was more than delightful. Pleasure to talk with, and very helpful. HOWEVER, the course was in horrendous condition. I’ve been playing for 15 years, and this is the worst-maintained course I’ve ever played. The greens were in good shape but EVERYTHING ELSE was absolutely dreadful. Which is a shame because the layout is so neat and fun! But the conditions make it unplayable. Bunkers were FILLED with weeds, paths were broken down and pathetic. California City has neglected this place. Will not be returning. All photos were MIDDLE OF FAIRWAY conditions.

The course said they were open online so I booked a tee time and showed up and the course was closed. What a joke and when I got there the entire back 9 was closed for renovations which wasn’t mentioned anywhere. Also the course is in shambles. Everything is dead and dirt. Would never play here

I feel the course needs more employees to keep up fairway maintenance. A shot hit anywhere but the center of the fairway can be lost in all the leaves. The greens were in good shape for a desert course.

Absolutely horrendous course conditions. Played in July and course was beautiful. Course is now totally unplayable and destined to close soon. Bunkers have 2 foot tall brush and all the fairways have overgrown grass. Zero care for cutting grass anywhere. Only thing good is that greens are in good shape. When you lose 5 balls IN the fairway it’s gotten beyond ridiculous. Very sad this course has gone downhill this fast. Would not even play there for free after seeing the course yesterday.

I wanted to be kind in my review, but that is impossible. They are starting to bring the course back from being a total disaster. It is bad! Some fairways are just dirt with lots of squirrel holes to catch your ball. Bunkers are not sand, but rather just compact dirt and weeds. There are no water jugs on the course, so bring your own water. The restaurant is close. I've been told that they are building a new club house and office. But so far all they have done is lay the concrete for the floor. The greens are in very good shape. But most fairways only have scattered patches of grass. They are…

Made the drive from out of town. The staff were all awesome. Super friendly. Engaging, helpful the whole 9 yards. 10 out of 10 there. The course itself is pretty fun. The drought and covid have hit the lawn pretty hard but I'm sure they are still getting things back up and running after the shut downs. The one thing that would be a nice change is some signage on the cart path. It gets a little confusing around hole 8 or 9 and is compounded on the fact that some of the tee box signs are broken or sunbaked beyond literacy. Overall though I would say the price might be the cheapest green fees in…
