In summary

Tournament Club of Iowa is frequently praised for its beautiful setting, well-maintained course, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for both casual rounds and special events. The course layout, designed by Arnold Palmer, is noted for its challenging and scenic holes, although some visitors express dissatisfaction with recent changes to certain holes and the course's layout. While many appreciate the amenities and overall experience, there are occasional concerns about the pace of play and course modifications.

Second golf course I played since visiting Iowa this week. Got myself a last minute tee time. Showed up at course and the first thing I notice was how welcoming the environment felt. The name of this course fits. Every hole and the layout is amazing. You have to bring your A game. I found myself enjoying the view and how well kept the fairways/greens are. Enjoy my round but I only wish everyone who play on this course can help fix their divots. Everything else about this course is outstanding.

Great course. Solid practice areas. Good lay out. The pro shop did tell me they were changing a few holes over the next season. Fun and fair layout.

Courses in excellent shape the greens rolled exceptionally only thing I don't like about the course is they changed up whole seven which is an absolute travesty that's just a terrible hole The green was not made to receive balls from that direction and then number nine terrible par-3 they took what was a really great Arnold Palmer design and destroyed it I don't understand why they changed it but don't like it The course has 16 really good holes! (In Response To Owner) Well whatever architect team you had working on that has no sense at all as a former golf superintendent I've been around plen…

Don’t listen to a negative word about TCI. We were just here on Labor Day… ITS FREAKING BEAUTIFUL!!! TCI absolutely did not disappoint. We drove 5 1/2 hours this morning to play it and I WILL back! At times, it was a very difficult but it was so beautiful.

Absolutely loved the course. There are a few holes undergoing changes. However, the quality of the rest of the course made that easy to overlook. The staff was very friendly. It rained a lot the night before but the course seemed to dry out quickly. The greens are in great shape. I like to pick one or two upscale courses a year to play. It was a great choice.

Played TCI for the first time with a group of 8 in town on a golf trip. We played 36 holes, and could have kept going! What a gem of a course. I can understand why some picky golfers aren’t thrilled with the couple holes that have changed and are a “work in progress,” but they’re just fine. And the pricing is appropriate based on these things. The course is tremendous, the club house and bar/restaurant area is beautiful, and the pro shop staff were so friendly and welcoming. Hope to come back and play it again sooner than later.

Been lucky enough to play here a couple of times. This place is among the best. I recently got to share this course with two of my best friends. All three of us agreed that this course was in/close to the Top 5 courses we have every played. Takes me about two and a half hours to get to TCI but I am hoping to play it again next month. Always a fun time!

Absolutely amazing course! The price was great, carts were nice with gps. Extremely difficult with almost every hazard you can imagine. Dramatic slope and elevation of front and back. Greens are large and played true. Front 9 had turns and large, ball eating drop offs everywhere and ends with a couple water holes, preparing you for the wooded, water heavy back 9 that runs with the river. This is in my top 3 courses ive played in Iowa. I would recommend this course to anyone visiting the Des Moines area that truly loves golf, and will deffinatly be back in the future. Arnold Palmer never disapp…

I hadn’t been to TCI in several years. The renovations to the course are terrible. They spoiled several of the holes on the front nine in order to bring the ninth hole closer to the clubhouse. It’s a shame. They messed up a really good golf course in order to sell more food and beverage. Short sighted.

TCI was the perfect venue for our wedding. They were extremely easy to work with and all staff is very friendly. They were very flexible on plans and quick with communication. The food was excellent and the golf course was beautiful to take pictures on. We were so happy with how everything turned out!

This is a beautiful golf course with excellent staff. My uncle and I enjoyed the course so much, we came back a few days later to play a second round. Stephen Kahler, the GM, was very gracious in assisting us. Definitely 5 stars!!

Updating this review to reflect our visit yesterday. Stephen invited us out to play the course again and it couldn't have been in better shape and the greens were fast but fair. The service was top notch and our cart was really good as well. Thank you to Stephen and his team for a great experience! I am only giving two stars because ownership has invested in adding a bar and grill for golfers and rerouted the course in a more logical manner. However: 1. Due to either short staffing or a lack of carts we were not able to get a cart until right before our tee time which isn't the biggest deal b…
