In summary

Van Zandt Country Club is appreciated for its scenic layout and friendly staff, with some visitors noting the course is enjoyable and well-maintained under normal conditions. However, there are frequent criticisms regarding the high green fees, especially given the inconsistent condition of the greens and fairways, and the lack of amenities such as a beverage cart or clear course signage. Some guests have also experienced delays and issues with course management, affecting their overall experience.

The course is nice but doesn't warrant the high price, in my opinion. Pretty open course with nice scenery but also a lot of noise from the interstate that it sits on. I'll probably play it again due to a golfing buddy that lives in that area, but honestly I think the price should be closer to $50 during the week.

Enjoyable day on the course. It was our first time playing. There's no layout on the card and they are in the process of putting up new signage on the tees, so there were a couple of spots that were a little confusing. It was a good layout and in good shape for this time of the year. A few bare spots, but they are just coming out of winter. The greens have a lot of character. Will play again when we're in the area.

This course is getting better but the green fees are ridiculous $90.00 on Friday thru Sunday with no senior discount. The greens are not better nor do the carts run faster on weekends. The only reason the green fees are so high is to gig the working man! Greens are below average for the area. Fairways are average. If you want to play a round of golf at a fair price play Lake Fork golf Course, a much better course.

Great service and gorgeous course. Arguably one of the most enjoyable courses in East Texas. I will definitely be back to play another 18. Moderately challenging course as well.

Waiting almost an hour for chicken fried steak sliders and fries is ridiculous!! Noone should have to wait almost an hour for two things especially when you guys are not even busy we sat at table 8

READ THE REVIEWS! Overpriced and not taken care of. Awful greens and cow pasture equivalent fairways. How on earth are they charging $90 to play here! A cart fee is $25 and not even included in the membership. Stay far far away from van zandt country club they swear they are pebble beach but id rather hit balls in a dark closet.

Really enjoyed this golf course! Greens and Fairways were in excellent shape. Staff was friendly and the lunch was good. It was definitely worth the hour drive!

Played there yesterday. Fairways not cut and missing grass in a lot of spots. It did rain a couple days ago so maybe that’s why not cut. Greens were absolutely horrendous. Lots of bare spots, crab grass and patches. Had I known, I would never have paid $90 to play there. Lots of much nicer courses within an hour for that and less. Played here last two years ago. Sad to see how far down it has come. While I like the layout and area, don’t think I’ll be back.

Extremely overpriced. Payed 90 bucks to wait in the fairway for 5 minutes because the greens were being watered at 10am, then was unable to finish a few holes due to standing water on multiple greens. On the greens that were not flooded, they were 50% sand. The course was in no shape to cost that much.

Not so difficult, so any golfer can play it. Most holes are obvious with the fairway and green in front of you. Greens have a lot of Poa annua, but that happens in East Texas. Range is average. The putting greens are consistent with actual greens. Enjoyable course.

Hard to give one of our favorite little East Texas courses an average review especially when it’s always a blast to drive out to Canton but .. A few things really provoked this one: first, when someone books a Tee Time you need to let them know if the course has some issues - just V Cut the greens a few weeks back and it still impacts putting, and they were inconsistent speedwise; a few greens with bare spots that are sanded including a Temporary Green that didn’t look like it had been mowed in a week - it was worthless trying to putt that one; some Tee Boxes were simply sand. And sand traps,…
