In summary

West Bend Lakes Golf Club is appreciated for its well-maintained fairways and greens, friendly staff, and a layout that offers a mix of open and challenging holes, particularly on the back nine. The setting next to the river is noted for its beauty, especially in the fall. Some visitors have expressed concerns about management issues, such as rain check policies and event coordination, as well as occasional slow pace of play and inconsistent restaurant service.

Been golfing here since I was in high school. Great course! Front 9 is nice and open but back 9 is much more narrow and a challenge. Fall it is so beautiful here next to the river. Tom and Sue have a great team here!

Really nice course with damn fast greens! Beware. Food smelled wonderful, but didn't have time to eat. Staff were very nice and accommodating.

Played the course the end of last September. Played 7 holes and it poured. We got a rain check and was told if we didn’t make it back it would be good this year. Went today couldn’t use it. Well drove a half hour so I might as well play nine. The attendant said &38.50, I said no, I wanna play nine holes, Oh $28.50 I told him I could go someplace else and play 18 for that price. That is one course I will never go back to. I would suggest the same for other golfers..🏌️‍♀️

Great course for the price! The staff here was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The layout offered some fun/challenging holes without being too daunting. Tee boxes were small and a little uneven, but I've seen worse. The fairways were in great shape. Greens were well maintained. Cart paths could use some maintenance but they were manageable. All in all, I really enjoyed the round and will definitely play here again.

Staff was pleasant and accommodating until day of event. $250 of $350 rental fee was to be applied to food/bev but WB Lakes change terms without notification; full charge just showed up on final bill! Was told "clubhouse" could hold 75; snug with 50. Bartender absent much of time; guests waited to get beverages. WB Lakes was DISHONEST with me, OVERCHARGED by $5/person. Make sure you get written contract, or you too may get a a surprise on your bill. Catered food was very good; uses outside caterer for events.

My wife and I ordered fish frys and were not disappointed. I had fried cod and she had baked cod. We both had twice baked potatoes. Everything was excellent! Definitely will visit again. Very friendly staff as well.

Best clam chowder around. I am picky with my soup and usually find restaurant soups too thick and gummy. This soup had a lot of clams and the perfect texture. Cod fish fry was nicely breaded. We will be back again!

fish fry = AWESOME!! not overly breaded, not fried to a crisp! great fish flavor! (their fryers and oil are clean) you don't need tartar sauce! decent prices! our new favorite friday stop!

I overall, I liked the course. Front 9 was a little more open than my taste but back 9 was much more interesting with woods and hazards. Greens were cut nice and about half of them had lots of rolling in them. Staff was great. Can't rate the clubhouse as they had a recent fire losing the clubhouse but I'm sure it'll be awesome when they rebuild it. I'd play it again.

We went to the restaurant with a group on a Friday for the fish fry and got sat right away it was not very busy. A few people got the smelt and did not like it compared to other places these were very small and over cooked. The cod fish fry was average, lightly breaded, and not too greasy. The potato pancakes were doughy/potatoey and the shrimp scampi was not good either it was lacking flavor. The prices were average and the wait time was good but the waitress was a little all over the place. She was nice but anytime time we asked for something such as another drink or a side of sauce she said…

I would go 4.5/5 if it was a choice. It is a pretty nice course for public. Fairways and greens well maintained. The name is a bit misleading since there isn't that much water. Relatively short and simple course is great for beginners or intermediate players. That's the only half star I'd take away, 50 bucks per person for 18 riding. By no means expensive really, but for the length and simple layout with minimum bunkers it should be closer to 40 in my opinion, but I'll certainly play it again.

I played last Sunday for the first time in many years and while the course was in decent shape, I was VERY disappointed in the way they had a women's club championship and open course at the same time. We were forced to let several groups of women through who played VERY slow. I don't know why they had marshalls coming up to our group and demanding we let them through. Why not let the groups speed determine if they play through or not? Or keep the course closed until the tournament is over? Very poor management and will probably be a long time until I play the course again. Almost 5 hour round…
